Highmark expanded our provider network to include national telemedicine vendors, we'll be giving you
and your employees new care options thanks to the power of telemedicine — virtually connecting you
and your employees with doctors to get care when it is needed.

We're teaming up with AmWell™ (American Well®) and Doctor on Demand™ to provide your employees
access to telemedicine.

Telemedicine lets you and your employees get help quickly in situations like these:

• You wake up at 3 a.m. on a Sunday feeling sick to your stomach because you ate something that
doesn't agree with you.

• You feel a bad cold coming on. Your primary care doctor is booked solid today and you don't
want to wait for an appointment.

• You're traveling and what you thought was an earache from a long flight seems to be getting
worse after you've been on the ground a while.

You and your employees will be able to talk to U.S. board-certified, state-licensed doctors who can
diagnose, recommend treatment and prescribe medication, when appropriate, for many medical issues
— like colds and flu, allergies, stomach issues, and other minor ailments.

Both AmWell and Doctor on Demand provide 24/7, on-demand care for minor illnesses. This type of
care will fall under your Telemedicine Service benefit. Please let your Highmark representative know if
you have any questions on what the member cost-sharing will be. Typically, on plans with copayments,
the member cost-sharing is less than that of a PCP visit. For HDHP plans, this is subject to your
deductible and coinsurance.

AmWell and Doctor on Demand also provide scheduled appointments for virtual behavioral health.
Virtual behavioral health is a video visit with a mental health provider. This service falls under your
existing outpatient mental health benefit.
