Have you had your vehicle thud along the pavement leading into the Downtown Dinuba intersections, been jammed in traffic while trying to make a right turn from Englehart to El Monte Way, or had to cross Kamm Avenue traffic by foot across from Wilson School? Those concerns are all scheduled in the city’s capital projects this upcoming fiscal year.
However, the biggest item on this year’s docket is the launch of the Randle Avenue Widening Project, which signals hope for revitalization for the city’s East side. While the city’s 2018- 19 budget called for cutbacks, several million in grants and other funds will propel multiple capital investment projects.

The $1.5 million-plus project is slated from 2018 to 2020 and is funded mostly by Community Development Block Grant funds awarded to the city. The project will extend Randle Avenue south to Sierra Way, encouraging development and traffic into the city’s east corridor to help revitalize the area. The road extension will include water and sewer lines, pavement, curb and gutters, storm drains, irrigation ditch piping and street lighting. Retail recruitment for the area is also ongoing separately.
About $600,000 in funds from Senate Bill 1 for road maintenance and rehabilitation will serve Dinuba’s busy streets. One emphasis will be placed on the intersections in Downtown Dinuba. The points at which the asphalt meet the decorative intersections has become
