The 2018 Memorial Day Avenue of Flags will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Smith Mountain Cemetery in remembrance of fallen men and women who served the United States of America.
This year’s guest speaker will be Denise Baronian, staff leader of Operation “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans” Recognition Day at Chukchansi Park in Fresno.
The ceremonies will remember the grandparents and parents who served their country, as well as young soldiers who did not make it home. Either way, they served so America can be free, so that America’s children can grow old with families they love.

Daniel Leroy Wright, 32, of Dinuba was booked May 14 on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, a felony, and damaging a cell phone, a misdemeanor.
According to a Dinuba Police report, the suspect allegedly “hit (the victim) in the nose and choked her,” during an argument.
He was arrested in the 500 block of Whitney Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Marina Kilgore Peralez, 45, of Dinuba, was booked May 19 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
The suspect allegedly possessed a “small baggie containing a white crystalline substance” in her backpack, a Dinuba Police report said.

The posting of colors and flag salute will be organized by Path Finders Explorers led by Director Daniel Toews. Greg Olson and Tammy Allen will sing the national anthem.

She was arrested in the 200 block of West Saginaw Way with an active warrant and transferred to county jail.
• Ruben Delgado Olivares, 28, of Dinuba, was booked May 18 on suspicion of vandalism by defacing property, a felony, and threatening with the intent to terrorize, a misdemeanor.
The suspect allegedly harassed a neighbor, vandalized a bicycle and “threatened to return with a gun and his friends,” a Dinuba Police report said.
He was arrested in the 1900 block of East Mountain View Way and transferred to county jail.
• Rodolfo Raul Gomez, 36, of Visalia, was booked May 18 on suspicion of battery to a spouse or cohabitant, a misdemeanor.
The suspect allegedly grabbed the victim’s wrist causing pain during an argument, the victim
told police.
He was arrested at the Dinuba
Police lobby and transferred to county jail.
• Eileen Molina, 36, of Dinuba, was booked May 16 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
She was arrested in the 200 block of South Uruapan Drive during a traffic stop, cited and released.
• Vincent Orlando Martinez, 34, of Dinuba, was booked May 16 on suspicion of vandalism by defacing property, a felony.
He was arrested in the 100 block of North Arkona Street and transferred to county jail.
• Manuel Orozco Santillan, 24, of Dinuba, was booked May 16 on suspicion of obstructing an officer and possessing unlawful paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
The suspect allegedly fled
police when contacted and was found in possession of a meth pipe, a Dinuba Police report said.
He was arrested in the 100 block of West El Monte Way and transferred to county jail.
• Monica Ortega Naranjo, 39, of Dinuba, was booked May 16 on suspicion of possessing unlawful paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
She was arrested in the 400 block of South M Street, cited and released.
• Christian Michael Selmyhr, and Emily Gonzalez, both 19, of Reedley, were booked May 14 on suspicion of defraud of less than $950, a misdemeanor.
The suspects allegedly attempted to leave IHOP without paying for their meal. Two other suspects reportedly fled the scene.
They were arrested on location, cited and released.
