A crowd of more than 100 student-athletes and other dignitaries welcomed back Josh Allen to Reedley College on April 19 at the Student Center at Reedley College.

Samantha Lizaola, the senior catcher, has 17 RBIs for the Eagles this season. Lizaola is one of only two seniors on the team. The Eagles are currently ranked No. 3 in Division V, according to MaxPreps.

Looking back at it, it was the biggest stepping stone I had because it allowed me to get to a Division I school. That is what I most fortunate about.”
The April 19 event start- ed when Allen walked into the Student Center at Reed- ley College. There he was greeted by with fanfare from RC alumni as well as the as- sociate student body.
Signs were also posted all over the Reedley College Stu- dent Center that read “Wel- come back Josh.”
After signing a few auto- graphs on Reedley College jerseys, helmets and other memorabilia that will be auctioned off at later dates, Allen then posed for pictures and signed autographs for the nearly 100 members of the crowd in attendance.

Allen returned to Reedley College, where he was honored by the college and talked to the current Tigers student-athletes about his time at the campus.

Those in attendance included Reedley Mayor Anita Betancourt and Sandra Caldwell, Reedley College president.
He then participated in a question and answer session with local media and those in attendance.
Allen said he has been on a whirlwind over the past several weeks. He has visited seven NFL team and even at- tended the Masters golf tour- nament in Augusta, Ga.
“Me and my family are enjoying the entire process,” Allen said.
Allen left for the NFL Draft on April 24.
LaVonne said she is ready to see her sons dream come true on Thursday Night.
“I knew he was going to make it. I know what his passion and desire is, I didn't have any idea about this type of publicity. I knew he would find away to get to the
NFL,” LaVonne said. “For a parent to watch your child fulfill a dream is incredibly amazing.”
After the question and answer portion of the event, Allen then was presented with his farmed Reedley Col- lege No. 12 jersey.
“That was special for me to be presented the jersey,” Allen said. “That speaks to how special this community is that they are supporting me and wanting to see me do well.”
Allen said he is ready to play for any team that is go- ing to give him the opportu- nity.
“Playing in the NFL is the only thing I ever wanted to,” Allen said. “I am ready to give the franchise that se- lects me everything I have.”
EAGLES

The Eagles defeated the Monarchs 6-4 on April 17. The Eagles and Monarchs then played a doubleheader on April 19 at the Immanuel High Sports Complex.
The Eagles lost the first game 3-2, before winning the second game 11-5.
As of April 24, Immanuel was 15-7 overall and 6-3 in the
CSL, tied with Selma High. On April 17, the Eagles
beat Exeter 6-4 in Exeter. Dylan Kent picked up the win on the mound. Roman Rosales had two RBIs, while Chris Gurrola and Kent each
had one RBI.
On April 19, the Eagles lost
the first game 3-2. Kent and JT Friesen each had one RBI.
The Eagles then won the second game 11-5.

had two RBIs. Friesen, Brad- ley Collins-Dunn, Trace Pires and Justin Paboojian each had one RBI.
The Eagles played Selma High School on April 24. No score was available at presstime.
Immanuel will play Selma High School on Friday, April 27, at Selma High.
The Eagles then will play Dinuba High School on Tues- day, May 1, at the Immanuel High Sports Complex.

Brady Barcellos, Reedley College Tigers pitcher, earned the win over College of the Sequoias on April 17 at Reedley College. Barcellos pitched eight innings and had five strikeouts in the Tigers' 4-1 win.

Entering the final week of the regular season, the Reed- ley College Tigers baseball team was in third place in the Central Valley Conference.
With three games remain- ing on the schedule, all against West Hills-Coalinga, the Ti- gers are 12-6 in the CVC and two games behind first-place Fresno City College and Col- lege of the Sequoias, both 14-4.
The Tigers are coming off winning two out of three games over College of the Se- quoias.
Reedley College defeated COS 4-1 on April 17 at Reedley College. They then beat COS 6-3 on April 19 in Visalia. The Tigers lost the final game of the series 5-3 on April 21 at

Alec Akins, Reedley College Tigers pitcher, threw a no-hitter against Porterville College on April 14 in Porterville. Akins, who is now 6-1 on the season, had eight strikeouts in the Tigers 1-0 win over Poterville College.

RC Softball
The Reedley College Ti- gers softball team had two dominant victories over Cerro Coso College on April 17.
The Tigers outscored Cerro Coso College 27-0 in the two games.
As of April 24, the Tigers were 14-5 in the Central Val- ley Conference, one game be- hind first-place College of the Sequoias.
On April 17, the Tigers won the first game over Cerro Coso College 18-0.
Emily Grimbleby was the winning pitcher. She pitched five innings and had 10 strike- outs.
Aunika Castellanos hit a home run and had four RBIs. Lauren Costa also had four RBIs, while Julia Jimenez had three RBIs.
Sandra Vallejo and Hunt- er Young each had two RBIs. The Tigers then won the
second game 9-0.
Costa earned the win. Jimenez hit a home run
and has three RBIs. Mickayla Villarreal had two RBIs, while Vallejo, Jessica Vegley and Castellanos each had one RBI.
Reedley College ended the regular season on April 24 against Fresno City College at Reedley College.
