Congratulations to the WAMS championship robotics team
Wasington Academic Middle School's Titan Warriors Robotics Team won 1st place in the robot game at a Jan. 26 tournament in Roseville against 14 other teams, most of which were high school teams. The Titan Warriors also earned 1st place for the Think Award for the team that best reflected the journey the team took as it experienced the engineering design process during the build season.
37th annual Academic Decathlon

The Sanger High School Academic Decathlon team will compete this Saturday in the 37th annual county event at Central High School East in Fresno.
This year’s competition will feature 28 teams. The decathlon begins at 9:30 a.m. with student events sched- uled throughout the day. The Super Quiz is scheduled at 3:45 p.m. in the gym and is open to the public, followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.
The theme for this year’s event is “The Sixties: A Transformational Decade.”

The Academic Decathlon teams are comprised of 12 competitive students with GPAs ranging from 1.00 to over 4.0, who compete in 10 examinations: Art, music,
language and literature, mathematics, economics, speech, interview, essay, sci- ence and social science.
The culminating Super Quiz encompasses all areas of study and can earn the team up to 5,880 points.
