Our Pet of the Week is "Mystique," a young, smart and very friendly shepherd/husky mix.
Call animal control officer Mario Irazoqui at (559) 618-9071 or Kim at (559) 250-5270 or message the Sanger Animal Shel- ter Facebook page and leave your email address to find out about the adoption process.
Let Kim know if you're able to provide a temporary foster home for any of the shelter dogs or if you would like to be a volunteer at the shelter.
Fostering or adopting is critical right now. The shelter is

"We need more volunteers who can help out during the
week," said Kim. "Call me and I'll explain what's involved. It's fun, easy and very important for our shelter animals."
The next adoption event at Clovis Tractor Supply will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 16.
"February is National Responsible Pet Owners Month," said Kim. "In addition to the adoption event we'll be explaining ba- sic things about grooming, training, hygiene, exercising and updating your pet's identification."
The reporter can be contacted by email at sangerherald@ gmail.com.
"She's only about a year old and she already knows several commands, sit, stay, down and some others," said volunteer coordinator Kim Reed.
"She's a good girl. I'll bet her family is looking for her - and she would like very much to go home."
Other dogs at the shelter hoping for forever homes are:
• "Balto," a young Siberian Husky. ""He's probably between 1-2 years old. He gets along well with the other dogs - and we're hoping his owner will see his picture and come to the shelter to claim him," said Kim.
• Bear, a senior shepherd mix who is probably used to be- ing an indoor dog. He's potty trained and loves mingling with people.
• Queenie, a friendly 3 year old pitbull who loves to play in water. She's up to date with shots and spayed.
• Cowboy, a 3 year old boxer/pitbull/pug mix who loves laps and hugs.
