Sergio Sanchez
Sergio Sanchez, a resident of Cutler, died January 8, 2019. He was 40.
He was a forklift driver.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 18 from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Sterling & Smith Funeral Home in Dinuba. Service will be held at 5 p.m.
Surviving family members include his parents, a daughter, three brothers, two sisters and 16 grandchildren.
Sterling & Smith Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Keith Steele
Keith Steele, a resident of Dinuba, died January 10, 2018. He was 91.
He was owner of Mademoiselle’s Clothing.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Jan 16 at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
Surviving family members include his wife, two daughters, a brother, a sister, a sister-in-law, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren
Dopkins Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
Obituaries
Five police officers were promoted to the ranks of the Dinuba Police Department at last Tuesday's Dinuba City Council meeting. Four of the officers were promoted from Reserve Officers to full- time police officers, while one officer, John George Ayala (far right), was promoted to Police Sergeant. The other officers are (left to right) Miguel Cardenas, Juan Guzman, Alexander Cordell and Jorge Gonzalez.

Isaac Martinez Aceves
Isaac Martinez Aceves, a resident of Orosi, died January 8, 2019. He was 83.
He was a construction supervisor.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 19 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Dopkins Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 4 p.m.
Surviving family members include a son, two daughters and a grandchild.
Dopkins Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
Elizabeth Jewell Glenn
Elizabeth Jewell Glenn, a resident of Dunlap, died January 10, 2019. She was 81.
She was a truck driver.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held for a later time and date.
Surviving family members include five daughters, 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Dopkins Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Monday, January 7
• A residential burglary was reported in the 1000 block of East Kamm Avenue at 2:26 a.m. The caller reported hearing someing trying to open the front door and then someone trying to open the back door.
• A trespasser was reported in the 1700 block of East Gerald Avenue at 9:46 a.m. A transient was reportedly possibly sleeping in a backyard there.
• A theft report was made in the 300 block of North M Street at noon. Medication was reportedly taken from a mailbox.
• A theft report was made in the 1200 block of East Whittaker Wayat3:05p.m.Amopanda pair of sneakers were reportedly taken.
• Two aggressive dogs, one brown and the other black, were
screen.
• A suspicious vehicle was
reported in the 500 block of West Kern Street at 6:51 p.m. A gold or silver SUV had reportedly been parked in front of a residence there for two hours.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 500 block of Nichols Avenue at 7:32 p.m. A subject was reportedly parked in an alley way in a truck.
• Shots fired were reported in the 1600 block of North Crawford Avenue at 11:33 p.m. Five shots were reportedly heard in the area.
Wednesday, January 9
• An unwanted person was reported in the 1700 block of East El Monte Way at 5:53 a.m. A white woman in her 40's was reportedly inside a restroom at McDonald's when it was closed.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 400 block of Whitney Avenue at 6:23 a.m.
• Juveniles were reportedly smoking marijuana in the area of Newton Avenue and Davis Drive at 9:14 a.m.
• An non-injury hit and run was reported near the south campus of Dinuba High School. A gray van reportedly side swiped a Chevy SUV in the area and then left the scene.
• Shots fired were reported in the 300 block of South L Street at 8:52 p.m. One shot was reportedly heard in the area.
Thursday, January 10
• Harrassment was reported in the area of Crawford Avenue and East El Monte Way at 5:29 a.m. Caller reported a male was following her in a white station wagon.
• Threats were made in the 2200 block of East El Monte Way at 6:20 p.m. A subject reportedly made threats at a store there and left.
• An assault was reported in the 1200 block of Magnolia Way at 7:52 p.m. A woman reported being assaulted by two females in the area.
• Reckless drivers were reported in the 8400 block of Avenue 406 at 9:44 p.m. Five vehicles were reportedly racing
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 400 block of West El Monte Way at 4:07 a.m.
• A commercial burglary was reported in the 200 block of North K Street at 9:39 a.m. The front door to a business was reportedly kicked in.
• A possible fire was reported in the area of Kamm and College avenues at 10:16 a.m. Smoke was seen coming from a trailer in the area.
• A residential burglary was reported in the 100 block of North Lyndsay Avenue at 12:48 p.m. A house was reportedly ransacked there.
• Three noise complaints for loud music were reported in the evening hours of Jan. 12. Reports were made in the 200 block of South J Street (twice), and the 300 block of East Fresno Street.
Sunday, January 13
• A theft report was made in the 1200 block of East Magnolia Way at 11:49 a.m. A black trailer was reportedly taken.
• A dumpster fire was reported in the area of Alta Avenue and Tulare Street at 11:53 a.m. Smoke was reportedly seen coming from a trash can in the area.
• License plate tags were reported stolen in the 1700 block of East Lauren Avenue at 2:17 p.m.
• Medication was reported stolen in the 100 block of East Merced Street at 4:18 p.m.

• Shots fired were reported in the 600 block of East Lavista Avenue at 8:07 p.m. Another vehicle was reportedly shot at.
• An assault was reported at Dickey Park at 8:22 p.m.
Tuesday, January 8
• Trespassing was reported in the area of Wiley Avenue and Whittaker Way at 9:37 a.m. Transients were reportedly near a pink shed on city property.
• Vandalism was reported in the 100 block of West El Monte Way at 1:21 p.m. The vandalism was reportedly done to a RedBox

Friday, January 11
• Domestic violence was reported in the 1100 block of Rosemary Avenue at 3:29 a.m. Caller reported subject was breaking items inside the residence.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 800 block of Rene Drive at 9:39 a.m. A Hispanic male with curly hair, wearing black shorts and a backpack, reportedly attempted to open the front door.
• An injury traffic collision was reported in the area of Road 96 and Avenue 408 at 11:33 a.m. The accident involved a work truck and a sedan. One subject reportedly had a head injury.
• A fire was reported in the 200 block of South Alta Avenue at 4:50 p.m. The fire was reportedly believed to be started by a homeless subject near the tracks behind the Memorial Hall Building.
• An injury traffic collision was reported in the area of East El Monte and Road 92 at 11:48 p.m. The accident involved a single vehicle that went into a field in the area.
Saturday, January 12
• A public disturbance was reported in the area of Park Way and College Avenue at 2:42 a.m. The disturbance involved four to five subjects.

The Dinuba Sentinel was established on Feb. 11, 1909, then succeeding the Orosi Offer which was established on April 21, 1902, and on Jan. 15, 1917, the Dinuba Advocate. The latter, when established, absorbed The Traver Advocate, which was established Oct. 9, 1875. The Kingsburg Sentinel, which was established on Feb. 20, 1947, consolidated with the Dinuba Sentinel on Aug. 28, 1951. Reaffirmed as a legal publication under California statute and Tulare County Civil Code No. 19523 on April 2, 1928.

Isaac Aceves
February 21, 1935 - January 8, 2019
Isaac Aceves passed away on January 8, 2019, at the age of 83. Isaac was born on Febru- ary 21, 1935 in Wasco, CA, but lived for over 70 years in Tulare County. He worked
as a construction supervisor for Self-Help Enterprises. He supervised the construction of over 40 homes in Tulare, Kings and Kern Counties.
At the age of 17, Isaac entered into the United States Army where he served as a para- trooper in the 82nd Air-
borne. He received his basic training in Fort Brag, NC and was assigned as a demolitions expert with the Army Corps of Engineers. Isaac served as Company Commander for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cutler-Orosi chapter and was named the 2004 Veteran’s Day Parade Grand Marshal by the Cutler-Orosi Chamber of Commerce.
Isaac is preceded in death by his parents Azarias and Luz Martinez Aceves; his brothers William, Moses, and Gabriel; his sister Phyllis; and his wife of 42 years, Gloria Castello Aceves.
Isaac is survived by his son, Isaac Jr. of Delano, CA and his daughters, Lisa of Bakers eld, CA and Susan of Oro Valley, AZ. Isaac also leaves behind his grandson, Je rey Aceves of Bakers eld, CA.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Dopkins Funeral Chapel.  e funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM on Saturday.
