A single-vehicle accident left a Dinuba woman dead and two passengers injured.
According to a report from the Department of California Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Adams Avenue toward Crawford Avenue, north of Dinuba. The driver reportedly drifted onto the south shoulder, over corrected and lost control. The vehicle traveled into a citrus grove, overturned and rolled over.
The driver, identified as a 19-year-old from
Dinuba, was pinned inside the vehicle and extricated by fire fighters. She was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno where she died from her injuries.
Two passengers, identified as a 14-year-old juvenile and Juan Solano, 21, of Orange Cove, were transported to Adventist Medical Center in Reedley. The Dinuba juvenile suffered moderate injuries – Solano suffered minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the accident, a CHP report said.

The Board of Directors of the Central California Women’s Conference (CCWC) is seeking local community benefit organizations serving women and children to apply for a share of the $100,000 in available grant money. The recipients will be recognized at CCWC’s Community Celebration Grant Reception on Wednesday, April 11.
All grant requests must be submitted online. The criteria for grant submissions and application can be found at www.ccwc-fresno.org/grantapp/. All grant applications must be submitted by noon on Monday, Feb. 12. Awards will be made only to Central Valley non-profits serving women and children who have served the community for at least three years.
When this year’s grant awards are included, CCWC will have donated more than $1,000,000
to Valley non-profits serving women and children. Funding has benefited recipients by providing an array of services ranging from mammograms to food, shelter, clothing, education and more.
Now in its 31st year, more than 90,400 women have attended the Central California Women’s Conference. This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center.

A Reedley gang member is in custody after pointing a gun at a woman in London.
The suspect, Ivan Barrita, 25, allegedly possessed a firearm in the area of Kate Road and Avenue 378 in London on Jan. 26. Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to contact the suspect on a vehicle stop, but Barrita successfully fled in his vehicle.

Tammy Louise Goerzen, 58, of Dinuba, was booked Feb. 2 on suspicion of theft from an elderly adult of more than $400, possessing a blank check, embezzlement of more than $400 and grand theft, all felonies.
The suspect allegedly stole more than $160,000 from her mother. She was investigated and arrested.
The suspect was arrested in the 500 block of North Crawford Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Arturo Diaz Mendez, 42, of Dinuba, was booked Feb. 5 on suspicion of possessing unlawful paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
A meth pipe was allegedly in the suspect’s possession.
He was arrested in the 200 block of East Kern Street, cited and released.
• A 16-year-old boy was booked Feb. 4 on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime, both felonies, and obstructing an officer, a misdemeanor.
According to a Dinuba Police report, an officer “witnessed two suspects assaulting” a victim. The suspects allegedly attempted to flee the scene and dropped the victim’s property.
He was arrested in the 700 block of Sunset Drive and transferred to juvenile hall.
• Armando Renteria, 64, of Dinuba, was booked Feb. 3 on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, a felony.
The suspect was arrested in the 1600 block of North Crawford Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Christopher Shequille Maldonado, 22, of Dinuba, was booked Feb. 3 on suspicion of robbery, a felony, and assault, a misdemeanor.
He was arrested in the 200 block of North Kelly Drive and transferred to county jail.
• Kylie Ann Jarboe, 28, of Squaw Valley, was booked Feb. 3 on suspicion of possessing unlawful paraphernalia and possessing a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
She was arrested in the 700 block of West El Monte Way, cited and released.
• Tomas Avilez, 27, of Cutler, was booked Feb. 3 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and possessing unlawful paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
He was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, a Dinuba Police report said.
He was arrested in the 700 block of West El Monte Way, cited and released.
• Alyssia Reyna Ochoa, 23, of Dinuba, was booked Feb. 3 on suspicion of resisting an executive officer, a felony, and obstructing an officer, a misdemeanor.
While the officer was arrested another suspect, Ochoa allegedly “kicked (the officer) in the back” and then spit on the officer after being apprehended.
She was arrested in the 1000 block of East Park Way and transferred to county jail.
• Alexi Garcia, 20, of Dinuba, was booked Feb. 3 on suspicion of obstructing an officer, a misdemeanor.
The suspect allegedly “delayed and obstructed officers while an arrest was being made.” She was also found to have an active warrant.
She was arrested in the 1000 block of East Park Way and transferred to county jail.
• Cristian Alfred Garcia, 23, of Dinuba, was booked Feb. 3 on suspicion of evading police with disregard for public safety, a felony, obstructing an officer and hit and run, both misdemeanors.
The suspect allegedly ran a stop sign and attempted to flee from police in a vehicle at “a high rate of speed.” The suspect then reportedly ran into a stop sign and crashed into a fence, then attempted to flee by foot. He was then caught and found to have two active warrants.
He was arrested in the 1000 block of East Park Way and transferred to county jail.
• Mayra Alejandra Chavez, 19, ofOrangeCove,wasbookedFeb. 2 on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled
substance, a misdemeanor.
A Dinuba Police officer responded to a report of a woman crying in the Wal-Mart parking lot. The suspect was located and found to be under the influence of a controlled
substance.
She was arrested in the 700
block of West El Monte Way and transferred to county jail.
• Paola Aguilera Pallares, 29, of Dinuba, was booked Feb. 1 on suspicion of making a fictitious check, a felony.
The suspect allegedly cashed a fraudulent business check at a market. The blank checks had been previously stolen, a Dinuba Police report said.
She was arrested in the 200 block of South K Street and transferred to county jail.
• A 15-year-old boy was booked Feb. 1 on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime, both felonies. He was arrested in the 5500 block of Avenue 400 and transferred to county jail.
• Three boys were arrested at the Dinuba Recreation Department in connection with a robbery.
A 14-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy were booked on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime, both felonies. The 17-year-old was also booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, being a minor illegally possessing a concealed weapon, being a minor illegally possessing ammunition and providing false identification to an officer, all misdemeanors.
The boys were suspected of a Jan. 29 robbery.
A third boy, a 14-year-old, was also booked on suspicion of providing false identification to police.
All three were arrested in the 1300 block of East Elizabeth Way and transferred to juvenile hall.

A concentrated cannabis lab was also discovered in a detached garage on the residence. The suspect was found to be responsible for the lab.
The firearms and lab were allegedly accessible to a juvenile living at the home.

• The first annual Sweetheart's 5K Run will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Ridge Creek Dinuba Golf Club at 8 a.m. In the race you can run, walk or roll.
The run costs $25 or $35 for a couple. The fee includes a T-shirt. The event will benefit the Wheel Chair Society. Awards will be given to the top runners.
The event will have a run for children under 10 and will be free. Children are invited to wear their favorite superhero shirt and children in wheelchairs are encouraged to participate.

• The eighth annual Dinuba Woman’s Club “Hearts & Roses” Luncheon and Fashion Show to benefit student scholarships will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Dinuba Memorial Building. Vendors will provide pre-event shopping beginning at 10 a.m., as well as shopping during the event.

• The Dinuba Historic Preservation Commission selected their chair and vice chair recently. Jesus Pelayo, an architect, will serve his second one-year term as chair. Maribel Sorenson, a local business owner, will serve her first term as vice chair.
The commission meets bimonthly and will have its next meeting on March 12 at 8:30 a.m. at the Dinuba City Hall chambers. The commission currently has a display highlighting historic Dinuba events, featured at the Dinuba Branch Library.

The suspect allegedly “dragged the victim” across a residence and “choked her as he told her he was going to kill her,” a Dinuba Police report said. The victim reportedly fled the home by jumping out of a window.

• Joe Emilio Moreno, 53, of Dinuba, was booked Jan. 31 on suspicion of violating parole, a felony.
