there would not be a coin-flip or the drawing of straws. Instead, a second runoff election would be conducted no less than 40 days after the final results come in, and no more than 125 days after.
The race for Ward 4 has only gotten closer with each elections result. Though incumbent Dr. Kuldip Thusu came out strong after initial results were released on election night, bringing in nearly 60 percent of the vote, his lead over challenger Tish Perez has dwindled down to what is now a difference of just 14 votes.
And in the seat which is guaranteed to look different next year, Ward 3 will likely be represented by Armando Longoria, who currently holds a substantial lead over Sal Medina. Longoria currently holds 59.5 percent of the votes. This is his third run for the seat.
The race for Ward 3 featured two challengers, as incumbent, and current Dinuba City Mayor, Scott Harness chose not to seek re-election.
Dinuba Unified School District
Longtime trustee Beverly Keel- Worrell will keep her seat on the governing board of the Dinuba Unified School District. The most recent election results showed Keel-Worrell holding on to a comfortable lead over challenger Alma Martinez. The incumbent received just over 67 percent of the votes in the recent election.

Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified School District
With the exception of board president Eddie Valero, who will be vacating his spot on the board of Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified to take on his new role as Tulare County Supervisor, next year’s board will look the same. All three incumbents who were up for re-election will be returning next year.
In Area 3, longtime trustee Sandra Williams received nearly 57 percent of the vote and has a sizable lead over challenger Alex Marroquin.
And in the race for the two seats in Area 2, incumbents Rebecca Jimenez and Mary Helen Espino received the majority of the votes to retain their seats. The first post- election results showed Jimenez receiving 33.9 percent of the votes, with Espino receiving 28.9 percent of the votes. Challengers Jesse Huerta and Maria Gonzalez received 21 percent and 13.9 percent, respectively.
Dinuba Memorial District Board
The race for Seat 2 of the Dinuba Memorial District Board will be going to Melvin Gong, who after final tallies received 48.6 percent of the votes. Jerry Lee Whitaker and Joe Martinez were also seeking a spot on the board. Whitaker received 17.3 percent of the votes, while Martinez came in second place with 33.3 percent of the votes. There were also 16 write- ins registered.

A big rig collided with a vehicle last Tuesday at the intersection of Crawford Avenue and East El Monte Way, causing the intersection to be blocked for a short time.
No injuries were reported in the accident and it is believed the black vehicle, shown above, attempted to make a right turn onto El Monte Way from southbound Crawford Avenue at the same time as the big rig.
