• Open Gate Ministries of Dinuba – which provides emergency food, shelter and clothing, job training, financial aid, spiritual encouragement, and counseling to the needy of Tulare County since 1974 – will hold its annual Soup, Salad and Pie Lunch on Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Palm United Methodist Church, on the corner of West Tulare and P Streets in downtown Dinuba.
The all-you-can-eat soup is only $6. A side salad costs $1 and a piece of pie costs $2. Take-out is also available.
Centerpieces and boutique items will also be available for purchase. For more information call 834-5135 or 591-1241.
• The eighth annual Dinuba Woman’s Club “Hearts & Roses” Luncheon and Fashion Show to benefit student scholarships will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Dinuba Memorial Building.
Vendors will provide pre-event shopping beginning at 10 a.m., as well as shopping during the event. You can shop for a variety of items including clothing, jewelry, make-up, purses, candles, and more.
Luncheon and Fashion Show ticket price is $25, which includes the opportunity to win door prizes. A Grand Prize drawing for a ‘Sweetheart Trip to Remember” will also be held.

Sierra Vista High School students volunteered at Open Gate on Monday, Dec. 18. Students filled over 200 food boxes for the community of Dinuba. The students who volunteered their time were, left to right, Roberto Hernandez, Edgar Huerta, Alex Roman, Miguel Ramos, Jovany Rodriguez, Brendan Pasillas, Yajaira Jimenez, Perla Sanchez, Adrian Chavez, Alex Nuno and David Espindola.
