Host Sanger 7th, 10th at D1 section track
Apaches qualify 17, Reedley 2 and Dinuba 2 for Masters Meet

Sanger High will be taking 17 athletes includ- ing three relay teams to this weekend's Central Section Masters track and field championships in Clovis.
Field events begin at 4 p.m. and tracks events start at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Buchanan High's Veterans Memo- rial Stadium.
The host Apaches placed seventh of 15 schools in varsity boys and tied for 10th out of 16 schools in varsity girls at the section Divi- sion I meet at Sanger's Dodson Field on May 13.
Sanger had five ath- letes turn in top five finishes. Senior Chidera Agina had second place finishes in both the long jump (22 feet, 2 inches) and triple jump (44-1). He was tied for first entering the final round before Clovis East freshman Harold Duvall pulled off a final jump of 44-10.25).
The Apaches' ad- vanced both their top pole vaulters to the Mas- ters Meet, led by sopho- more Atianna Marquez who set a personal and school record for girls with a height of 11 feet, 2 inches to finish in fourth place. Marquez also qualified for Mas- ters in the girls 100 hur- dles (12th in PR of 16.65

In the County Metro Athletic Conference, Sanger's baseball (13-15, 7-8) and softball (16-12, 6-4) teams wrapped up third place finishes last week. The boys were seeded 11th in Division III and played at No. 6 Hanford on May 17, while the girls are the 16th seed in Division II and played at top seed Hanford on May 18.
In the final year of the Central Sequoia League, Immanuel's baseball team (13-15, 6-6) placed third be- hind champ Kingsburg while the Dinuba soft- ball squad (17-10, 6-4) finished third in back of champion Selma. Di- nuba's baseball and Im- manuel's softball fin- ished sixth and fifth, respectively.
The Eagles' baseball team drew the number three seed in Division V baseball, and hosted

Buchanan swept the boys and girls titles with 141 points each, while the Apache boys scored 22 points and the girls compiled 15 points.
There were seven new stadium records es- tablished, by the Central High boys 4x100 (40.97 seconds), Buchanan's Grace Hutchison in the girls 1600 (4:50.89), Bu- chanans Augustus Rem- linger in the boys 110 hurdles (15.18, one of three), Clovis North's Takiya Cenci in the girls 400 (53.84), Cen- tral's Jeremiah Walker in the boys 400 (47.88) and boys 200 (21.07) and Buchanan's Sierra Cornett in the girls 3200 (10:42.73).

Dinuba qualified two
boys for the Masters meet after their strong showings at the Divi- sion II section meet in
Tehachapi on May 17. If seeds hold, they would host CSL rival Exeter on Thursday, May 19. Im- manuel's softball was seeded fourth in Division V, and was home to Fres- no Christian on May 18.
Dinuba's baseball and softball teams both opened with road games; the boys drawing the No. 16 seed in Division IV and playing at top seed Liberty-Madera Ranchos on May 17 while the girls (11th seeds) traveled to Bakersfield to take on No. 6 Garces in the Di- vision III bracket.
Semifinal rounds are scheduled for Tuesday, May 24, for baseball and Wednesday, May 25, in softball, with higher seeds hosting. The sec- tion championships will be played on May 27 or May 28.

Visalia on May 13. soph- omore Julian Ramirez in the discus and senior Christopher Alba in the 300 hurdles. Alba placed fourth with a PR of 42.97 seconds while Ramirez was fifth with a throw of 145-1. He also placed seventh in the shot put at 44-5.
Dinuba's girls had one place winner in ju- nior Kaprise Morales, fourth in the shot put at 31-3.5.
At the Division III section meet in Exeter on May 13, Reedley had Masters meet qualifiers in juniors Jacob Diaz (1600) and Lindsay Lun- sford (triple jump). Both turned in first place fin- ishes, with Diaz clock- ing a PR of 4:34.82 while Lunsford jumped 33-11.

Dinuba High Softball
Dinuba High's Jaelynn Acevedo went 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and four RBI in the Lady Emps' 12-10 victory over Hanford West on May 9. The sophomore utility player also had a strong defensive game at shortstop and second base as Dinuba (17-10) finished third in the Central Sequoia League.
