One of the things Chute was surprised to discover about Raison was that the two actually went to the same high school in the Bay Area. The other thing that stood out to Chute was the story Raison shared of his honeymoon.
Said Chute, “I always remember your honeymoon, in that you and Diane left on a merchant ship and traveled like halfway around the world. And I thought how fascinating and what a story that would be.”
Fellow commissioner, and longtime city employee, Rick Hartley said, “It didn’t matter where it was and what building it was, you could tell me the history about it.”

Commissioner Ron Gerstenburg also stated that much of the historical records, via the Dinuba Sentinel, are available through the county library system, something Raison credited Rose Ann Vuich for achieving through the state archives.
Raison also said he hopes the library continues to make it easier for people to access the records for historical purposes.
Pelayo added, “As a fellow commissioner I would say that the kind of service that you’ve contributed here is something that we, that I, model as the kind of service that the community deserves. History will remind us that we may be forever indebted for service and the contributions you’ve made.”
Raison receives a gift from Historic Preservation Comissioner Nancy Hoyt.
