the top of the second inning and came around to score for a 1-0 lead. The Warriors countered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning as Flores hit a double to score Lexi Rubacalba. Flores would later score on a hit by Kaylee Rodriguez.
With two outs in the top of the third inning, Lady Heet Trucking loaded the bases and Ashlee Orozco hit a pop up that was misplayed by the infield. The error proved costly at the time as the Lady Heet scored three runs. On that play, Orozco attempted to score but was tagged out at the plate by Warriors catcher, Hazel Moreno.
With all the momentum on Lady Heet Trucking’s side, the veteran Warriors didn’t flinch.

A five-run bottom of the third proved to be the key inning for the Warriors, who clinched the City Recreational softball championship with a hard fought 8-4 win over Lady Heet Trucking on Friday at Roosevelt Park.
“I could say they [Lady Heet Trucking] got a lot better from the first time we played them,” said Warriors coach Candy Flores.
Flores noted that he started his daughter, Alize, to face a few batters before handing the ball over to left- handed Olivia Patterson.
“We wanted to start Alize and then bring Olivia on to finish the game off,” Flores said.

The finale to an outstanding prep career came to a close for Dinuba High’s John Calderon, Daniel Long, Luis Perez and Joshua Veeder. The four athletes were members of the West all-star squad that held on for a 34-28 win over the East in the 52nd annual Tulare/Kings East vs. West All-Star Football game held Saturday at Groppetti Automotive Visalia Community Stadium.
“It was really fun, I got to meet different players and we had a great coaching staff,” said Long. “I went out there and tried to get that one good tackle. I think everyone wanted to get that one good hit.”
The West’s defence came up big during the game forcing five turnovers including a late interception that secured the victory.
“It turned out to be a really good game,” Long said.
The West’s ground game proved to be another difference maker as they rushed over 230 yards led by Tulare Western’s Andrew Davis’ 179-yard effort and a pair of touchdowns.
Davis along with Sierra Pacific’s Jayson Littlejohn were Co-Most Valuable Players for the West team.
La’Dre Aguilar of Redwood was the East’s MVP.

The season was special for the coaches and players of the Rangers as they capped off an incredible year capturing the Dinuba Recreation baseball title with a 10-3 win over the Dodgers on June 20 at Roosevelt Park.
The Rangers, who were eliminated in the playoffs a year ago, had run the table from the beginning of the season with a mixture of six returning players and newcomers who made an immediate contribution, according to coach Jimmy Hignojoz.
“I told the young kids during the season that they are here to make the team better and the little guys came out swinging,” he said.
The Dodgers did their best to knock off the heavy favorites loading the bases on several occasions, but each time the Rangers found a way to avoid surrendering a big inning.
The Dodgers started off well as Moses Quenedo greeted starting pitcher Junior Mendoza with a leadoff-single and came around to score on a bases loaded walk for a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom half of the inning, the Rangers got on board with run scoring hits from Anthony Pompa and Austin Hoover. When the inning
