ing experience. I have three basketball Valley rings and so many memories playing for this school,” Galpin said. “I’m a third generation Immanuel stu- dent and coming to this school means so much to me and my family. I wouldn’t want to play for any other school.”
She averaged a double double her senior year with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
She was also a first team All-CSL section as a sophomore, junior and senior. She was the Most Valuable Player of the Central Section Division III Championship in 2018.
“What both accomplished over four years is outstanding,” said James Stevens, former Im- manuel High head coach. “They leave a lasting legacy that will forever be at Immanuel High.
Gutierrez said playing with her best friend, Galpin, made it all worth it.
“Playing with Ava has made this journey worth more than anyone can say,” Gutierrez said. “As a team we have had our ups and downs but being
able to experience them with my best friend was amazing. To be able to accept the awards and achievements together and as an individual is more than most people can say they did. I have had a great four years of playing basketball with her, and I'm glad we both got what we deserved.”
Galpin agreed with Gutierrez.
“ The thing that made play- ing these last couple years amazing was Krystale. Besides being best friends off the court, our on-court chemistry is great and we work really well togeth- er,” Galpin said. “We always have each others backs and al- ways pushed through the hard- est games together.”
Gutierrez will continue her education and play basketball at Fresno Pacific University beginning in the fall.
Galpin will attend Fresno State.
“ I have a dream of becom- ing a speech pathologist and Fresno State has a great pro- gram for that,” Galpin said. “Playing basketball these last couple years has been amazing but now I will be pursing my career so I can work with kids.”
