Surveillance video captured both vehicles involved in a kidnapping that occurred Saturday in Cutler.
Cutler kidnapping victim found safe

After an extensive manhunt, Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office have found the victim from kidnapping that occurred on Saturday. The victim had been forced into the back seat of his own vehicle while at a gas station in the Cutler Area.
Detectives followed up on numerous leads over the ensuing 24 hours, which lead to the recovery of the victim. The victim reportedly had minor injuries as a result of the kidnapping, but was overall in good health.
The suspects in this case are still outstanding and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Tulare County Sheriffs Office.
On Saturday, Oct. 18, at approximately 1150 a.m., Deputies were called to a gas station in the 40300 Block of Road 128 in Cutler in regards to a suspicious incident which had just occurred. Deputies arrived on scene and were told by witnesses of a possible kidnapping.
Deputies located video surveillance at a local store, which showed the victim pulling up to the gas pumps in his 2007 Nissan Versa. A short time later, a black lifted
Nissan Titan pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle, at which time two Hispanic males were seen exiting the truck. The two males reportedly confronted the victim and he is seen being pushed into the back seat of his vehicle. Both vehicles then fled south on Road 128 toward Visalia.
Deputies immediately began checking the area and found the victim’s vehicle abandoned in the area of Ave 392 and Road 128. Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit have responded to the scene and taken over the investigation.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a Black Lifted Nissan Titan (oxidized or faded paint on the cab) with Black wheels, black tinted windows and “Discount Auto” Paper Plates.
The case is being investigated as a possible kidnapping. Anyone with information or who knows the identity of the victim or possible suspects, please contact Detective Brandon VanCuren or Sgt. Cheryl “Cherie” (Lunder) Garcia
Cheryl “Cherie” (Lunder) Garcia, of Dinuba, California,
passed away in Visalia, on Friday, October 12th, 2018 at
the age of 73, while surround- ed by her family.
Cherie is survived by her husband, Raymond Garcia. She is also survived by her children from her  rst mar- riage to Bob Lunder: Janice (Jimmy) Wright of Tulare,
CA, Andy (Stacy) Lunder of Bend, OR, Kelly Patton of
Las Vegas, NV, Kenny Lunder of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and
Bob Lunder’s children: Minda Chaplin, Je  Lunder, and Shelly
 ompson. In addition, she is survived by her 10 grandchildren: Jacob, Jordan, Joshua, Jamie,
Jacqueline, Julianna, Tawny, Brandon, Elise, and Dalton, and her 4 great-grandchildren: Aislynn,  eodore, Archer, and Veronica, also her siblings: Cathy Lowell, Ryan Wiebe and Steve Wiebe, her aunt Pearl Burk, and her cousin Gary Quiring.
Cherie is preceded in death by her parents Opal “Louise” Wiebe and Ryan Wiebe and by her daughter Heather Raimondo-O’Brien.
Cherie was born in 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia. Growing up, she lived in Wichita, Kansas and in Bellevue, Washington. She attended Washington State University. A er moving to California and raising her children, she worked for many years as a CNA in the Home Health industry. She truly loved caring for others. Her children remember her as being very supportive, always encouraging them to be their best and pursue their goals, and for sacri cing her own needs for theirs.
Cherie’s passion was cooking for people and there was always more than enough to go around. Never would you
go hungry at her house. “Eat some more!” was a phrase she repeated o en. She enjoyed watching cooking shows and game shows, playing the Rummikub board game with her family, going to play Bingo with friends, and her daily round of Jeopardy on Alexa. She loved dogs. She was fun to be around and always witty. She gave all her loved ones nick- names, including dogs, family, friends, and even cars. An- other favorite pastime was watching her San Antonio Spurs play on TV with her son Kenny. Cherie regularly watched “ e Jewish Voice” TV program, and their ministry was dear to her heart. She and her husband Raymond attended First Southern Baptist Church in Dinuba.
Jesse R. Camp
Jesse R. Camp, a resident of Reedley, died October 26, 2018. He was 79.
He was a water manager at Alta Irrigation.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1 from 4
p.m. – 7 p.m. at Dopkins Chapel in Dinuba. Services will be held on Friday, November 2 at 12 p.m. at Dopkins Chapel in Dinuba.
Surviving family members include a spouse, two brothers and sisters.
Dopkins Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Monday, October 22
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 1400 block of West El Monte Way at 12:26 a.m. A male subject was seen looking into the windows of vehicles at Ed Dena's.
• A train set was reported stolen in the 1300 block of East Elizabeth Way at 12:07 p.m.
• A loud explosion/fire was reported at Dinuba High School's north campus at 4:19 p.m.
• Shots fired were reported in the 1300 block of Park Way at 7:28 p.m. Three shots were reportedly heard in the area.
• A theft report was made in the 100 block of East Tulare Street at 7:31 p.m.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 300 block of West Franklin way at 10:10 p.m.
Tuesday, October 23
• A theft report was made in the 900 block of South College Avenue at 5:15 a.m. A subject wearing a black shirt was refusing to pay for items at a store.
• A homeless family was reported near a playground in the 1300 block of Elizabeth Way. The family reportedly had a small infant with them.
• An unwanted person was reported in the 600 block of West El Monte Way at 8:42 a.m. Subject reportedly refused to leave a business and locked themselves in a bathroom.
• An unwanted person was reported in the 900 block of South College Avenue at 9:47 a.m. The subject was reportedly throwing items inide Family Market.
• Domestic violence was reported in the 700 block of Norh Villa Avenue at 3:49 p.m.
• An illegal burn was repoted in the 1600 block of Magnolia Way at 6:10 p.m.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 1600 block of Odessa Avenue at 6:14 p.m. A subject on a bike reportedly tried going into a back yard and chase a female.
• Vandalism was reported in the 1200 block of East Magnolia Way at 7:14 p.m. Someone reportedly put sugar in a vehicle's gas tank.
• Trespassing was reported in the 1300 block of East Whittaker Way at 9:19 p.m. A trespasser was reportedly seen in a vacant residence.
Wednesday, October 24
• Domestic violence was reported in the area of Crawford Avenue and North Way at 10:28 a.m. A male subject reportedly had been punching a female and was last seen headed west on North Way in a gray hoody.
• A transient camp was reported in the 400 block of North Eaton Avenue at 10:53 a.m.
• A battery reportedly occurred at Rose Ann Vuich Park. It was reported at 4:42 p.m.
• A juvenile female at Rose Ann Vuich Park reportedly stated she was going to kill herself. It was reported at 5:04 p.m.
• Shots fired were reported in the 1100 block of Park Way at 10:48 p.m.
Thursday, October 25
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 700 block of Second Avenue at 12:18 a.m.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 300 block of South Crawford Avenue at 12:36 a.m.
• A fire was reported in the 600 block of Euclid Avenue at 9:49 a.m. Smoke was coming from the kitchen area.
• A theft report was made in the 1100 block of West El Monte Way at 11:09 a.m. A subject reportedly took a hat from Tractor Supply Co. without paying.
• A theft report was made in the 900 block of West El Monte Way at 2:01 p.m.
• A suspicious vehicle was reported in the area of Dickey Park at 4:11 p.m. The vehicle was reported as an older silver SUV with a subject believed to be living in it.
• A public disturbance was reported in the 1000 block of East Sierra Way at 8:58 p.m. A woman was reportedly heard screaming for help.
Friday, October 26
• Suspicious subjects were reported at the Dog Park at 12:07 a.m.
• A non-injury traffic collision was reported in the 700 block of West El Monte Way at 8:43 a.m.
• A theft report was made in the 700 block of West El Monte Way at 12:22 p.m. Three females reportedly took food items and were seen in a black truck.
• A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 300 block of East Tulare Street at 7:28 p.m. A black vehicle was seen parked and two subjects wearing black hoodies reportedly left running north on J Street.
• A bottle of tequila was reported stolen in the 100 block of North Crawford Avenue at 8:12 p.m.
Saturday, October 27
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 1000 block of Gardenia Avenue at 12:05 a.m.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 900
block of Jasmine Avenue at 12:29 a.m.
• A commercial burglary was reported in the 700 block of North Alta Avenue at 1:52 a.m. A subject was reportedly seen trying to force a drive thru window open.
• Domestic violence was reported in the 100 block of North J Street at 1:08 p.m. A female was reportedly heard yelling to stop.
• A shoplifter was reported in the area of Saginaw and Viscaya at 2:30 p.m. The subject was reportedly wearing a blue and red striped shirt, jeans, a ponytail and reading glasses.
• Seven noise complaints for loud music were made in the evening hours of Oct. 27. Complaints were reported in the 600 block of East Davis Drive, 600 block of Cedar Lane, 600 block of Ramblewood Avenue, 500 and 600 block of Sycamore Drive and 1700 block of East Lauren Avenue.
Sunday, October 28
• Five noise complaints for loud music were reported in the early hours of Oct. 28. Complaints were reported in the 100 block of South Palm Drive, 1100 block of Ramblewood Avenue, area of Heather and Rosemary avenues and the 600 block of Sycamore Drive.
• Domestic violence was reported in the 1300 block of North Crawford Avenue at 4:46 a.m.
• Shots fired were reported in the area of East El Monte Way and McKinley Avenue at 7:24 p.m.
• Shots fired were reported in the 200 block of North Villa at 7:36 p.m. The shots reportedly occurred near the Jack in the Box on East El Monte Way.
A Memorial service to celebrate Cherie’s life is sched- uled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 17, 2018 at First Southern Baptist Church, 1667 Golden Way, Dinuba, CA. A lunch reception will follow the service. Pastor Gary Rankin will o ciate. All who knew and loved Cherie are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. If you wish, in lieu of  owers, you may send donations to the family to help with funeral expenses.
Cherie believed in and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will miss her immensely until we meet again. Jesus said... “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” John 11:25
