As a way for students at Roosevelt Elementary School to learn more about career paths, the school invited personnel from the Dinuba Police Department, Dinuba Fire Department, Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and Tulare County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue to share a little bit about their careers.
The event was entitled the Lights and Sirens Career Day and was the brain child of school counselor intern Daisy Lopez. “By the second grade students should already be looking into career options,” said Lopez. “With everything that’s been going on with the fires, police, I thought it would be good to

Fire personnel from the Dinuba Fire Department and Fresno County Fire responded to an early morning fire in the 200 block of North M Street on Monday.
The fire broke out in a vacant building behind the Dinuba Vocational Center and responders were able to put out the fire before it did too much damage.

The building has received several reports over the past few months for transients camping out in the area.

Monday, November 12
• A commercial burglary was reported in the 200 block of West El Monte Way at 7:26 a.m.
• A vehicle burglary was reported in the 300 block of North M Street at 8:48 a.m.
• A subject on a bike reportedly stole clothing from a clothes line in the 1300 block of Park Way at 10:41 a.m.
• A speaker was reportedly stolen in the 100 block of North Alta Avenue. It was reported at 1:59 p.m.
• A male subject was reportedly chasing a female with a knife in the 300 block of North Alta Avenue at 4:32 p.m.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 1100 block of East Davis Drive at 6:48 p.m.
• A reckless driver was reported in the 1500 block of West El Monte Way at 9:20 p.m. The vehicle was described as a black Hyundai traveling at a high rate of speed.
Tuesday, November 13
• A non-injury traffic collision was reported near the intersection of Road 80 and Avenue 400 at 6:11 a.m.
• A non-injury traffic collision was reported in the 1500 block of West El Monte Way. It was reported at 7:49 a.m.

• A reckless driver was reported in the 300 block of East Kern Street at 12:12 p.m. A subject in a blue Nissan was reportedly speeding in the area.

• Transients were reportedly sleeping in some bushes in the 700 block of Monte Vista Avenue. It was reported at 1:48 p.m.
• Four dogs, one a German Shepard, were reportedly chasing a subject in the 1300 block of West Adelaide Way. It was reported at 3:18 p.m.
• A non-injury traffic collision was reported in the 1400 block of West El Monte Way at 4:41 p.m.
• A residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of Villa Avenue at 8:10 p.m.
Wednesday, November 14
• A theft report was made in the 900 block of West El Monte Way at 11:06 a.m. The suspect was described as wearing a sweatshirt and a black baseball cap.
• Four juveniles were reportedly smoking at the Rose Ann Vuich Bandshell at 1:53 p.m.
• Transients were reportedly setting up camp near the 500 block of North Lillie Avenue. It was reported at 4:23 p.m.
• A theft report was made in the 900 block of West El Monte Way at 4:39 p.m. The suspects were described as two male subjects both wearing gray hoodies.
• A cell phone was reported stolen in the area of First Avenue and Sierra Way at 5:58 p.m.
• Shots fired were reported in the 1300 block of North Crawford Avenue at 8:22 p.m. Two shots were reportedly heard.
• A theft report was made in the 900 block of West El Monte Way at 8:47 p.m. A male and female reportedly took clothing from a store in the area.
Thursday, November 15
• A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 200 block of West North Way at 3:03 a.m. A blue Silverado truck was reportedly driving around a complex in the area.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 7000 block of Avenue 400 at 3:12 a.m. A subject was reportedly knocking the doors at a trailer park requesting to use a phone in Sultana.
• A possible fight involving a group of around six subjects was reported in the 300 block of California Avenue at 12:13 p.m.
• A reckless driver was reported in the 400 block of East Tulare Street at 12:28 p.m. The vehicle was described as a blue Nissan 350Z, missing a front bumper, speeding in the area.
• A non-injury traffic collision was reported in the area of First Avenue and Sierra Way at 2:40 p.m.
• Suspicious subjects were reported in the area of East Tulare and H streets at 9:42 p.m. A group of about four subjects were reportedly drinking and throwing bottles.
Friday, November 16
• Scrap metal was reported stolen 42000 block of Road 80 at 9:33 a.m.
• Identificaion fraud was reported in the 1900 block of Dunbar Avenue at 10:30 a.m.
• A bike was reported stolen in the 200 block of South L Street at 2:14 p.m.
• A vegetation fire was reported in the area of Marshall and Johnson avenues at 2:16 p.m.
• A theft report was made in the 700 block of West El Monte Way at 3:24 p.m. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 30's and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
• A group of five to six juveniles were reportedly throwing things at a residence in the 100 block of North H Street at 5:27 p.m.
• Shots fired were reported in the area of Villa Avenue and Davis Drive at 6:55 p.m.
• Vandalism to the tables at Rose Ann Vuich Park was reported at 8:15 p.m.
Saturday, November 17
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 600 block of East Kamm Avenue at 4:31 a.m.
• Vandalism to the front of a commercial building was reported in the 400 block of West Ventura Street at 8:25 a.m.
• A check was reported stolen from a mail box in the 41000 block of Road 70. It was reported at 10:13 a.m.
• A bike was reported stolen from a garage in the 1000 block of Golden Way. It was reported at 3:34 p.m.
• Vandalism to a residence was reported in the 100 block of North H Street at 5:31 p.m. A window to a residence was broken.
• A vacuum was reported stolen in the 200 block of North Villa Avenue at 5:32 p.m.
• Vandalsim was reported in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 5:07 p.m. A window to a residence was broken.
• A suspicious subject was reported on Sequoia Drive at 6:09 p.m. A subject wearing a red flannel shirt and black hat was reportedly causing a disturbance as he walked eastbound on Sequoia Drive.
• Vandalism to a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of North L Street at 10:47 p.m.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 1000 block of East Sierra Way at 10:47 p.m.
• Trespassers were reported in the 300 block of North M Street at 11:04 p.m. Subjects were reportedly sleeping on the bench in front of Emperor Estates.
Sunday, November 18
• A noise complaint for a loud party was reported in the 1900 block of Cameron Way at 12:11 a.m.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 1300 block of Whittaker Avenue at 1:33 a.m.
• Vandalism was reported in the 300 block of East Tulare Street at 8:58 a.m.
• A subject reportedly charged after someone in the area of Tulare and L streets. It was reported at 10:26 a.m.
• Domestic violence was reported in the 300 block of California Avenue at 9:19 p.m.
• Suspicious subjects were reported at the Downtown Enertainment Plaza. The subjects were described as two males wearing dark sweaters in an older vehicle was a missing hub cap.
• A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 700 block of North Alta Avenue at 9:30 p.m. A gray vehicle was reportedly following a female with a back pack near RiteAid.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported on Bloomingdale Avenue. It was reported at 7:14 p.m.
• A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of East Golden Way at 8:39 p.m.

The Kingsburg Sentinel, which was established on Feb. 20, 1947, consolidated with the Dinuba Sentinel on Aug. 28, 1951.
