On Saturday, Dinuba battled Fowler to a 5-5 tie.
The Redcats scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the second inning. Dinuba responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame on RBI singles from Chavarin and Ochoa.
In the bottom of the fifth, Josh Meave drew a leadoff walk followed by a bunt single from Marroquin. The Emperors had a potential run wiped out when Ochoa followed with a base hit and Meave was called out on a play at the plate. Ochoa and Chavarin advanced to second and third base on the play. Marroquin scored on an error and Escobedo’s sac fly scored Chavarin. Ochoa eventually scored on a wild pitch for a 5-2 lead.
The Redcats tied up the game at 5-all in the top of the fifth via four walks and two errors.
Ridge Huckaby went 4.2 innings allowing six hits and two earned runs before being relieved by Escobedo.
In a Central Sequoia League game against visiting Immanuel on April 11, the Eagles erased a 3-1 deficit with a late surge in a 11-6 win.
The Emperors took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning as Meave and Lozoya each drove in a run.
Immanuel cut the lead to 3-2 in the third inning before taking a 6-3 lead in the fifth. The Eagles tacked on three more runs in the sixth and two more runs in the seventh. Kaelyn Barela had a PR in winning the 100 hurdles as she was timed in 19.63 just .03 ahead of Sunnyside’s Linda Villareal- Sanchez. Natalie Duran also competed in that race as she was 5th in 20.39.
Natalie Crisosto had a time of 12:50.21 in the 3200 for 2nd overall and in the 1600, she was eighth in a time of 6:16.26 as teammate Luzmi Ramirez was 4th in 6:04.21.
In the 800, Yaquelin Avilez was 2nd in 2:53.52 and Monce Mendoza was eighth with a time of 2:59.62.
Kaylee Villasenor finished third in the long jump and set a PR at 13-7. In the triple jump, Karina Vierya (29-5) and Jasmine Sandoval (29-2) were 3rd and 4th place finishers.
In the Central Sequoia League Relays held on April 10 at Central Valley Christian, the distance medley relay team of Estrada, Ortuno-Campbell, Aurajo and Jose Arreguin won the race in 11:32.05. The Emperors also took fourth as the team of Pedro Calderon, Jesse Gonzalez, Jose
Gomez and Osvaldo Perez had a time of 12:23.77 and the third team from DHS that also competed in that event finished sixth in 12:46.12. Members of that relay were Javen Salacup- Hernandez, Adonis Guillen, David Arias and Soto.
In the 1600 sprint medley relay team, the team of Padilla, Ortuno-Campbell, Aurajo and Estrada were second in 3:57.70, just behind Central Valley Christian (3:56.70).
DHS also was 2nd in the sprint medley relay with a time of 1:42.30. That team consisted of Michael Wilson, Mendoza, Lopez and Francisco Alburto. They also were 2nd in the 4x100 meter relay in 45.98.
In the girls discus, Dinuba had three individuals in the top-10 led by Villareal-Harris, who won the event with a throw of 110-01. Vela took fourth with a throw of 80-04 and Karla Gonzalez set a personal record with a mark of 70-09 for ninth overall. Villareal- Harris also won the shot put (33- 05) and Vela was seventh with a toss of 26-0.
The DMR team of Crisosto, Ramirez, Avilez and Karyme Guerra finished fourth in 14:59.04.
The 4x100 relay squad of Angela Cortez, Kelsey Valle, Villasenor and Amanda Valdez finished seventh in 57.51.

The 200 MR team of Jeren Tolegova, Morales, Felizia Meza and Alexa Reyna had a time of 2:54.44 for 3rd.
Yesenia Hernandez captured the 100 meters in 12.91 and she also won the 200 meters in 28.68. Teammate Wendy Renteria had a time of 30.66 to finish 2nd.
Lopez and Lizet Godoy went 1-2 in the 400 with times of 1:12.34 and 1:13.34.
Fabiola Rodriguez cruised to awininthe1600withatimeof 6:27.53 and Daniela Tejeda was 2nd in 6:40.11. The two athletes closed out the meet going 1-2 in the 3200 with times of 14:29.56 and 15:06.53.
In the triple jump, Trevino won the event with a mark of 31-2 and Victoria Quevedo was 2nd at 28-4. In the long jump, Lesli Viveros (14-5) edged Trevino (14- 4).

In a home meet on Wednesday, April 10 against Orange Cove High School, the Cardinals dominated the “Battle of the Oval”.
Aiden Rodriguez was a double- winner as he posted times of 23.84 in the 200 and 2:14.30 in the 800.
Garcia and David Cecilio went 1-2 in the 1600 with times of 5:20.59 and 5:23.39.
Vasquez also posted a win in the 100 in a time of 11.53.
Edgar Dominguez won the shot put with a throw of 39-7 and Brian Ventura was 2nd with a mark of 36-7 1/2.

The 5th Annual Quevedo Memorial Walk-Run for Education will take place at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 27 at La Esperanza Restaurant in Cutler.
Participants will finish at
El Monte School as proceeds from the event will go towards scholarships for Orosi High School.

Victoria Trevino had a busy day at the Sierra Pacific Invitational as the freshman competed in four events, including the triple jump where she was 10th with a mark of 30-3.

DINUBA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
Dinuba High's Corey Cosper is named Athlete of the Week as the senior out elder went 5-for-9 with three stolen bases and drove in a run this past week. The Emperors are currently 7-11-1 overall and 4-5 in the Central Sequoia League standings.

The Dinuba Wrestling Club will be having signups for the upcoming Freestyle and Greco season in the Dinuba High wrestling room from 6 – 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Cost is $50 and will include your USA card. Athletes from the surrounding area are welcome to join.
Interested individuals will
need to bring a copy of your birth certificates as well. The club will be accepting ages 5 and up.
Practices are underway and will be every Tues. & Th. from 6 - 8 p.m. in the DHS wrestling room.
