However, on a split vote the council decided to imple- ment the new cost allocation all at once in the next fiscal
year. Voting in favor of full implementation immediately were mayor Frank Gonzalez and councilmembers Hum- berto Garza and Esmeralda Hurtado. Mayor pro tem Daniel Martinez voted "no"
and councilmember Eli Onti- veros abstained.

You can still buy regular grade gas for less than $4 at a few locations in Sanger.
Here's a look at prices in Sanger this week, courtesy of GasBuddy.com.
Who is to blame for the high prices?
Governor Newsom wants to know why gas prices are higher in Califor- nia than in the rest of the country. He blames potential "inappropriate indus- try practices" rather than the state's higher taxes and tougher environmen- tal regulations, Fox News reported.

season scheduled on May 4th, a full 12 weeks later, and still no parking lot.
"Mr. Rodriguez, this is a safety issue. Our ladies will be
carrying in boxes of supplies. Numerous attendees will re- quire the use of canes and walkers. The curb in front of our building is steep, the only lowered street ramp is on a busy corner. We have had falls and injuries reported already. We need access to our parking lot!
"It is my understanding that PG&E scheduling is holding up the completion our the alley parking lot entrance. If this is the case, it is imperative that the scheduling of this job be prioritized. It needs to be done immediately so the alley can
be paved prior to our event on May 4th. Please contact me with your plans. Thank you."
There wasn't time to get a response from PG&E for this edition. We'll try to have one next week.
This year's theme for the SWC's annual Spring Tea and Luncheon, open parking lot or not, is “Beau-TEA-ful Friend- ships," said Adams.
It will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and, once again, there will be a contest for the most beautifully decorated tables. "Awards will be presented in four categories: Most Tradi- tional; Most Creative; Best-Themed; and Judges Choice," said Adams.
The event will include appetizers, a luncheon, fashion show, silent auction and entertainment.
Profits from the Spring Tea are used to fund the Sanger Woman's Club's charitable giving projects.
For last minute ticket information you can contact Spring Tea co-chair Linda Yost at 875-3188.
