Minerva Camacho
Minerva Camacho of
Sanger died March 29 in Sanger. She was 65.
Mrs. Camacho worked as a credential analyst. She is survived by one son, one daugh- ter, four brothers, five sisters and two grand- children.
Services were held April 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Buri- al was at Sanger Cem- etery.
Juana Chavez
Juana Chavez of Orosi died April 18. She was 60.
Mrs. Chavez worked as a packer for local fruit companies. She is survived by her hus- band, Salvador Chavez Sr. of Orosi; two sons, one daughter and one granddaughter.
Services were held. Burial was at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba.
Rafael de Leon
Rafael de Leon of Dinuba died April 21. He was 86.
Mr. de Leon worked as a foreman for field workers. He is survived by his wife, Minerva de Leon of Dinuba; five daughters, 10 grand- children and 20 great- grandchildren.
Services were held. Burial was on May 3 at Smith Mountain Cem-

nior boys 400 meters and was on first place relay teams in the 4x400 and 4x100. Compet- ing in the junior girls division, Goetz won the 1500 in 5:05.49 and the 3000 in 10:33.39. In the intermediate girls division,
Morales won the 100 hurdles and shot put while taking third in the 400 meters.
Herrera won the interme- diate boys 800 and 1500 while taking third in the 200. Bacon tied a school record with a 5’10” effort in the high jump and a first in the 100 hurdles.

Alonso Gomez Sr. of Sanger died April 7 in Clovis. He was 84.
Mr. Gomez worked as a teacher. He is sur- vived by his wife, Victo- ria C. Gomez of Sanger; one son, one daughter, two brothers and eight grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, at Grace Community Church in Sanger.

Rosa Lomeli of Sanger died April 16 in Sanger. She was 95.
Mrs. Lomeli was a homemaker. She is sur- vived by one son, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A mass was held April 29 at St. Mary's New Catholic Church in Sanger. Burial was at Sanger Cemetery.

Donald Franklin
Pauls of Reedley died April 9 in Reedley. He was 90.
Mr. Pauls worked as a building contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Elaine Pauls of Reedley; one son, one daughter, six
grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held April 18 at Reedley Cemetery.

Jose Garibay Perez
of Orosi died April 30 in Orosi. He was 57.
Mr. Perez worked as a farm laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Eloisa Amezcua of Orosi; three sons, one daughter, four grand- children, four sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Friday, May 13, at the family home. A fu- neral mass will be held at noon Saturday, May 14, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Cutler. Inter- ment will be in Mexico.
Gabriel Rosas
Gabriel Rosas of Reedley died April 16 in Reedley. He was 94.
Mr. Rosas worked as a supervisor. He is sur- vived by his wife, Elia- zar D. Rosas of Reed- ley; two sons, three daughters, two sisters, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchil- dren.
A mass was held April 27 at St. Antho- ny of Padua Catholic Church in Reedley. Burial was at Reedley Cemetery.

The Central Section individual championship meet for boys tennis be- gins on Friday, May 6, at Garces Memorial High School in Bakersfield.
Seven players from Mid Valley Times re- gion schools have quali- fied for the meet; six in doubles. The lone sin- gles player is Immanuel High's Micah Goertzen, who drew the No. 14 seed and faces Daniel Fourchy of Clovis North at 9 a.m. Friday. Quar- terfinal matches are at noon May 6, and the semifinals start at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7.
Doubles qualifiers are the Sanger High teams of Michael and Matthew Bedrosian (Seeded No. 4) and Ne- hemiah Delgado-Nolen Jaramillo (No. 12) along with the Dinuba High tandem of Aaron Fer- nandez-Rafael Amezola (No. 15). All three teams play at 9 a.m.

Goertzen held up to his third seed by win- ning three matches, qualifying for section by downing No. 6 seed Daniel Allen of Sierra Pacific by scores of 6-4, 6-0. Goertzen dropped just three games in his six victorious sets.

All MVT region teams have been elimi- nated from the Central Section team playoffs. Before a first-round Di- vision I playoff loss to Clovis East, Sanger High had captured a fifth con- secutive County Metro Athletic Conference championship.

Saturday festivities begin at 10 a.m. with the parade, and the open- ing ceremony for the Fiesta will be- gin at noon. The Cinco De Mayo Pag- eant Court, highlighted by new Queen Yeretzi Corpus Solis, will be presented from 12:15 to 1 p.m., and then music runs continuously until 10 p.m.
