Jackie Olvera, one of the organizers of the giveaway, said the presents to each household were a gift certificate for a large pizza from Me n Ed's in Di- nuba, one case of water, one 12-pack of a Pepsi product and toys for each child in the household. Donations came from Me n Ed's, H&S Trucking, Pepsi Co. and
Karam Um, DDS in Dinuba.
Olvera said the gift-givers made
the trip in three vehicles, two persons per vehicle. They practiced distancing while wearing face masks, and sani- tized each items that was given to each family.
Olvera said the group hopes to hold another gift giveaway next year.

council. In the council's rotational line of succes- sion, member Mary Fast begins her third stint as mayor. Fast, a 14-year member of the coun- cil, served two terms as mayor from 2008 to 2012.
The council and the city paid tribute to Pi- non for his four years of service. The departing member was presented with his nameplate used while he was mayor, and he also received a plaque that included a ceremonial gavel.
The Dec. 15 meeting was considered a special meeting. It replaced the regular Dec. 8 meeting because the city had to wait until election re- sults were officially cer- tified before swearing in the three members.
The next scheduled Reedley City Coun- cil meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12.
