A man was robbed May 12 in the 12300 block of Sequoia Avenue in Orosi.
The suspect allegedly “forced the victim to give him his cell phone and cigarettes while threatening the victim with an edged weapon,” a report from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said. The suspect fled the scene and left in a “waiting vehicle.”
The case is under investigation.
• The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the owners of memorabilia, jewelry and other personal items after two theft arrests were made in the Cutler area.
After an investigation, deputies arrested Adrian Suarez and Magdalena Alvarado on May 8. They reportedly frequented Dinuba, Orosi and Cutler, as well as Kingsburg, Parlier, Sanger and
Selma. The valuables were then found in the suspect’s vehicle.
• A tractor was stolen from an orchard storage area outside of Dinuba on May 8.
A suspect was witnessed driving the stolen tractor from the orchard in the area of Avenue 392 and Road 56. Employees reportedly confronted the suspect and he fled the scene.
The case remains under investigation.
• A Polaris utility cart worth more than $5,000 was stolen from TM Nursery in Orosi on May 3. On May 4 TCSO deputies located the cart in Dinuba and returned it to the business. No suspects were identified.

The suspect in the fatal April 18 hit-and-run accident in Dinuba was found and arrested on May 10.
The suspect, identified as Jose Luis Baires, 27, of Reedley, was arrested by Dinuba Police at approximately 7:30 a.m. An investigation and tips from the community determined that Baires was the driver and a search warrant was executed in the 600 block of East Manning Avenue in Reedley.

Idelfonso Garcia, 36, of Dinuba, was booked May 10 on suspicion of inflicting injury on a child and inflicting injury on a spouse or cohabitant, both felonies.
He was arrested in the 1300 block of South Greene Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Fabian Frausto, 48, of Dinuba, was booked May 13 on suspicion of obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol, both misdemeanors.
He was arrested in the 500 block of Lillie Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Adan Ramirez Jimenez, 53, of Dinuba, was booked May 13 on suspicion of hit and run causing property damage, a misdemeanor.
The suspect allegedly fled an accident by foot.
He was located at his home and arrested in the 200 block of South O street, cited and released.
• Steve Gonzalez, 27, of Dinuba, was booked May 12 on suspicion of vandalism by defacing property, a felony, and disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor.
The suspect was allegedly found intoxicated with “gray paint on his shirt, face, hands and shoes,” that matched a nearby vandalism report.
He was arrested in the 400 block of West Ventura Street and transferred to county jail.
• Brynn Cody Curtis, 28, of Selma, was booked May 12 on suspicion of shoplifting. She was arrested at Wal-Mart, cited and released.

A welfare fraud bust led to the arrests of 27 Tulare County residents - four of which are from Dinuba.
The Tulare County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigations discovered more than $140,000 in welfare fraud between the 27 suspects, and four others who surrendered themselves to authorities. Those found of fraud of more

than $950 were charged with felonies and those found of fraud of less than $950 charged with misdemeanors. The arrest warrants were served on May 7 and May 8.
Maria Gallegos, 52, Lacey Laney, 31, Enrique Yepez, 40, and Marlina Martinez, 25, all of Dinuba, were among the arrests made. The other arrest warrants were served in the cities of Lindsay, Porterville, Springville, Tulare, Visalia and Woodlake.
She was arrested in the 1300 block of East Whittaker Way.
• Pedro Antonio Alvarado, 34, of Reedley, was booked May 8 on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, a felony.
The suspect was arrested in the 800 block of G Street in Reedley by Dinuba Police and transferred to county jail.
• Mirella Yepes, 23, of Reedley, was booked May 7 on suspicion of battery to a spouse or cohabitant, a misdemeanor.
The suspect allegedly harassed the victim, a Dinuba Police report said.
She was arrested in the 1500 block of West El Monte Way and transferred to county jail.

The suspect was reportedly contacted by police at Wal-Mart and allegedly lied to officers about his name. He was found to have an outstanding warrant.

of Dinuba, was booked May 9 on suspicion of grand theft, a felony.
According to a Dinuba Police report, the suspect allegedly stole an iPhone at a restaurant and sold the item. Video surveillance reportedly captured the incident.
She was arrested at the Dinuba Police lobby and transferred to county jail.
• Felipa Alonso Ponce, 37, of Dinuba, was booked May 9 on suspicion of receiving known stolen property, a felony.
The suspect was allegedly found by police in possession of a stolen phone.
