District Doings
• A Vietnam Veterans Wall Ceremony will be held on Saturday, Mar. 30 at the Dinuba Memorial Hall at 249 South Alta Avenue. The event is being hosted by all Veteran service organizations in association with the Western Regional Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall Foundation.
A social hour will be held at 10 a.m., with the opening ceremony scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. A free luncheon will be held following the ceremony.
The ceremony is being held to honor and recognize the sacrifice and service of men and women who bravely served our country to protect our freedom.
• The Relay For Life 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 30 at Ridge Creek Golf Course, beginning at 8:00 a.m. (Early registration at 7:30am - minimum donation of $25.00). Contact Luisa Sanchez at 859-6803 for more information.
• Friends of the Dinuba Library will be hosting a used book and media sale on Saturday, Mar. 30, in the library conference room from 9 am to 3 pm at 150 South I Street.
Proceeds help fund library projects and activities.
• Jefferson Elementary School will be having their annual Spring Fling Carnival on Friday, Apr. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be food, games, raffle prizes, bounce houses and much more.
• The 14th Annual Ikebana Flower Show and United Methodist Women Boutique will be held on Saturday, April 6, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The event will be held at Palm Methodist Church in Dinuba, on the corner of Tulare and P streets.
Admission is $5 and there will be free refreshments. Proceeds to benefit Reedley Community Youth Ministries and Dinuba Open Gate Ministries.

Dinuba Police Department arrests in the last week.
• Juan Ramos, 18, of Dinuba was booked on Mar. 22 on suspicion of petty theft, a misdemeanor.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of West El Monte Way for a subject with a toy gun at Walmart. He also reportedly walked out of the store with several items without paying.
He was arrested at the scene, booked and cited with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
• Carl Bohn Anderson, 32, of Dinuba was booked on Mar. 22 on suspicion of being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia, being in possesion of a controlled substance, being in possession of burglary tools, driving without an interlock device and driving with a suspended license, all misdemeanors.
Police say officers contacted him in a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Alta Avenue after he was observed driving with a cracked windshield. After making contact with him it was discovered he was driving on a suspended license for Driving Under the Influence, and did not have the mandated interlock device in his vehicle.
Officers say he was also found to be in possesion of meth, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools. He was arrested at the scene, booked and later released with a promise to appear in court.
• Juan Francisco Perez, 23, of Dinuba was booked on Mar. 23 on suspicion of being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia and
battery to a spouse or date, both misdemeanors.
Police say he was contacted regarding a service call for a physical altercation between a male and female. After an investigation it was determined that both subjects were the aggressors and threw each other to the ground. Both, according to the report, are in a dating relationship.
He was arrested in the 300 block of Villa Avenue, booked and transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility. During the booking process, he was found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe.
• Alicia Martinez Rojas, 35, of Ivanhoe was booked on Mar. 23 on suspicion of battery to a spouse or date, a misdemeanor.
According to police, she was contacted regarding a service call for a physical altercation between a male and female. After an investigation it was determined that both subjects were the aggressors and threw each other to the ground. Both, according to the report, are in a dating relationship.
She was arrested in the 300 block of North Alta Avenue, booked and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
• Leodegario Torres Viveros, 33, of Dinuba was booked on Mar. 25 on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, a felony.
Police say he allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old female at his residence.
He was arrested in the 100 block of South Crawford Avenue, booked and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility for housing.
Sentinel staff report
On Mar. 18, around 12:45 p.m., Deputies from the Orosi Sheriff’s Substation were called to Glen’s Mini-Storage Facility at 12358 Avenue 416 in Orosi for a burglary report. They were told that the suspects broke
block of Beinhorn Street in Orosi. The investigation revealed 21-year-old Oscar Martinez Arriaga of Orosi and another person broke into to the victims’ storage units and stole their property.
During the warrant, Detectives seized clothing, hand tools, lawn equipment, jewelry and other items that were later returned to the owners. The estimated recovery value was $5,410 dollars. Arriaga was booked into the Adult Pre-Trial Facility without incident. He is being charged with burglary and possession of stolen property.

Tulare County Sheriffs were able to apprehend an Orosi man after video surveillance showed him breaking into a storage unit in Orosi. They were later able to locate the stolen property, estimated at over $5,400, and return it to its rightful owner.
