A tractor was stolen outside of Dinuba on Jan. 2.
Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area of Avenue 416 and Road 56 on Jan. 3. A 2012 New Holland T4060F had been stolen from the property the night before. The victim was identified as Baggie Farms.
TCSO Agricultural Crime Unit detectives are investigating the incident. The TSCO Cyber & Forensics Investigations Unit also processed the crime scene.

Mauricio Nava, 18, of Dinuba, was booked Jan. 3 on suspicion of felony possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public, carrying a loaded handgun that he did not own, illegal possession of a concealed weapon, possessing a narcotic controlled substance and bringing alcohol or drugs to prison, all felonies, and obstructing an officer and providing false identification to police, both misdemeanors.
According to a Dinuba Police report, the suspect attempted to flee as the passenger of a vehicle during a traffic stop. The suspect was reportedly “observed disposing of a firearm,” the report alleged.
The suspect was arrested in the 1600 block of North Crawford Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Brandon Martinez Murillo, 20, of Dinuba, was also booked Jan. 3, on suspicion of obstructing an officer and possessing a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
The suspect was the driver of the vehicle contacted on a traffic stop. The suspect also attempted to flee the scene.
He was also arrested in the 1600 block of North Crawford Avenue and transferred to county jail.

St. Michael's assisted living facility in Dinuba celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ with a Christmas party for the residents on Dec. 19. Volunteers Isa Irvine and Alicia Vega hosted the event.
The Christmas party had 20 pizzas, two large trays of chunky potato salad, Christmas cookies, apple and cherry pies, chocolate peanut clusters

and homemade cake for 60 people. Irvine also made chocolate peanut fudge and refreshments were served.
Christmas gifts and prizes were given to residents. There were activities and Christmas caroling. The hosteses wish to thank Dinuba Presbyterian Church for the gifts, Peña's Disposal for the pizzas, Serranos Furniture and Dr. Hamesh Kumar for the prizes.
“They all had a joyful time,” Irvine said.

The suspect allegedly had a meth pipe in his possession.
He was arrested in the 2200 block of East El Monte Way, cited and released.
• Leobardo Moreno Beltran, 41, and Carina Rodriguez, 36, both of Dinuba, were booked Jan. 6 on suspicion of trespassing, a misdemeanor.
The suspects were allegedly on a property without consent.
They were arrested in the 1000 block of East Sierra Way, cited and released.
• Estella Maria Thompson, 28, of Dinuba, was booked Jan. 5 on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and first degree burglary, both felonies, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
The suspect allegedly entered the victim’s residence and assaulted the victim.
She was arrested in the 1100 block of Villa Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Leonard Adrian Duran, 19, of Dinuba, was booked Jan. 4 on suspicion of child cruelty leading to possible injury or death, a felony.
He was arrested in the 200 block of Smith Avenue and transferred to county jail.
• Damian Alejandro Rodriguez, 31, of Dinuba, was booked Jan. 2 on suspicion of inflicting injury
to a child, a felony.
An investigation determined
that the suspect “struck [the victim] causing visible injuries,” a Dinuba Police report said.
He was arrested at the Dinuba Police Department lobby and transferred to county jail.
• Juan Francisco Perez, 22, of Dinuba, was booked Jan. 2 on suspicion of threatening with the intent to terrorize, a felony.
The suspect allegedly “made threatening statements to victim while in possession of a knife,” a Dinuba Police report said.
He was arrested in the 1300 block of East Whittaker Way and transferred to county jail.
• Artemio Gomez Rojas, 37, of Dinuba, was booked Jan. 1 on suspicion of possessing unlawful paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
He was arrested in the 900 block of First Avenue, cited and released.
• Freddy Ariel Rodriguez, 48, of Parlier, was booked Dec. 31 on suspicion of inflicting corporal injuries to a spouse or cohabitant, a felony, and violating a restraining order, a misdemeanor.
The victim reportedly told Dinuba police that the suspect “punched her twice and caused an injury to her lip.”
The suspect was arrested in the 300 block of Grace Lane and
transferred to county jail.
• Juan Francisco Perez, 22, of Dinuba, was booked Dec. 31 on suspicion of vandalism and being under the influence of a controlled substance, both
misdemeanors.
The suspect allegedly “slashed
three bicycle tires that were in the back yard of a residence,” a Dinuba Police report said. The suspect was determined to be under the influence of a narcotic substance.
He was arrested in the 1300 block of East Whittaker Way and transferred to county jail.
• Rosemary Dominguez, 32, of Dinuba, was booked Dec. 30 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
The suspect was contacted on a traffic stop and arrested on active warrants.
She was arrested in the 400 block of South M Street and transferred to county jail.
• Denise Iniguez Vargas, 31, of Dinuba, was booked Dec. 29 on suspicion of possessing unlawful paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
The suspect was contacted by Dinuba Police and a meth pipe was allegedly found in her possession.
She was arrested in the 1700 block of East El Monte Way, cited and released.

Sammy Ceballos
November 12, 1936 - December 24, 2017
Sammy Ceballos, a long- time resident of Dinuba was called home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2017.  e youngest of three sons, Sammy was born in Mesilla, New Mexico to Francisco and Gabina Ceballos on November 12, 1936.
He was employed by Poppy Foods and Zacky Farms and a member of United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1288 for 44 years, until his retirement.
Sammy was an avid sports fan, but the San Francisco Giants were his team, “Go Gigantes!” On any given day you could  nd Sammy shopping for a “good deal” at Walmart. He would inevitably run into a friend or two and chat up a storm. He especially loved to talk about his adored granddaughters and in recent years, his two great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Manuel and granddaughter Jaqueline Gaston.
Sammy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Jennie, his daughter Cindy Ceballos Leighninger of Visalia,
his son Greg and wife, Rose of Dinuba, granddaughters, Liana and Ava Leighninger, Patti and Samantha Ceballos, and great grandsons, Samuel Ceballos and Noah Vega of Dinuba. He is also survived by his brother, Ishmael Ceballos and family of Dinuba, sister in law, Doris Ceballos of Fresno and extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, 5pm- 7pm at Dopkins Funeral Chapel, 189 South J Street, Dinuba, CA. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be on  ursday, January 4, 2018, 10:30am at St. Cath- erine’s Catholic Church, 356 N Villa, Dinuba, CA Burial will be at Smith Mountain Cemetary.

Mary Elizabeth Tracy Newton was born on July 1, 1914 in Pittsburg, California. She passed away in her home on January 5,
2018 where she had lived for almost 40 years.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her two sisters, her husband,
three granddaughters, two nieces and a nephew,
and two sons in law, three sisters in law, and
three brothers in law.
Surviving are her six children, one son
in law, 19 grandchildren, 40 great grand- children, and eight great, great grand-
children, three nieces, two nephews, plus
spouses of her children and grandchildren
and great grandchildren, grand and great
nieces and nephews, almost too many to mention.
