Cutler man of child molestation
Sentinel staff report
A Cutler man was recently convicted of child molestation and now faces up to over 14 years in state prison.
On May 24, in Department 5 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, a jury found Salvador Serna, 24, guilty

of child molestation. Serna was convicted of four counts of lewd act upon a child, with one count including the special allegation of substantial sexual conduct with the victim.
Serna was also convicted of one count of contacting a minor for a sexual offense. Each count is a felony.
The crimes were reportedly committed against two female minors from September of 2013 to November of 2015.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, June 13, in the Tulare County Superior Court and faces up to 14 years and 8 months in prison.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Laura Jackson of the Crimes against Children Division and investigated by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Sara Olmos and Florence Cotton.

Thomas “Tim” Jones
Thomas “Tim” Jones, a resident of Orosi, died June 2, 2019. He was 65.
He was a truck driver.
Services will be held Monday, June 10 at 10 a.m. at Dopkins Chapel.
Surviving family members include his spouse, four sons, a daughter, 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Kaweah Delta Hospice Foundation.
Dopkins Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
Alejandro Rodriguez
Alejandro Rodriguez, a resident of Cutler, died May 31, 2019. He was 67.
He was a farm worker.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 6 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Sterling & Smith Funeral Home in Dinuba Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be Friday, June 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cutler.
Surviving family members include his spouse, two daughters, a parent, a brother, five sisters, and two grandchildren.
Sterling & Smith Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Monday, May 27
• A large water leak was reported in the area of West El Monte Way and Euclid Avenue at 9:22 a.m. The leak was reportedly coming from the middle of the road.
• A male transient reportedly dumped trash on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of East El Monte Way. It was reported at 11:43 a.m.
• Two subjects were reportedly camping out behind a business in the 100 block of South L Street at 8:19 p.m.
• Suspicious vehicles were reported in the 1200 block of Rosemary Avenue at 8:45 p.m. Three vehicles were reportedly parked in a cul-de-sac.
Tuesday, May 28
• A gambling machine was reportedly beind used at a laundromat in the 600 block of West Kern Street. It was reported at 7:35 a.m.
• A male subject was reportedly laying on the floor in front of the Dinuba Transit Center at 1:22 p.m.
• A vehicle burglary was
reported in the 200 block of West Sierra Way at 2:48 p.m.
• A possible grass fire was reported near the railroad tracks near Dickey Park at 6:43 p.m.
• A theft report was made in the 300 block of West Tulare Street at 8:11 p.m. A subject reportedly stole a pair of shoes and left east bound on Tulare Street on a bike.
Wednesday, May 29
• A black IPhone case was reportedly stolen from the dog aisle at Walmart. It was reported at 12:13 p.m.
• A theft report was made in the area of Franklin Avenue and Lindsay Way at 3:02 p.m. A male with long hair, wearing a black shirt and black pants, was reportedly seen leaving a residence with cans.
• A structure fire was reported in the area of Road 64 and Avenue 416 at 8:13 p.m.
• A subject wearing black clothing was reportedly causing a disturbance in the 400 block of West El Monte Way at 9:51 p.m.
Thursday, May 30
• A front license plate was reported stolen in the 300 block of East Tulare Street. It was reported at 10:28 a.m.
• A subject in a white GMC reportedly pulled a machete on Mono Street at 11:09 a.m.
• A trespasser was reported in the 1100 block of East El Monte Way at 3:04 p.m. A subject was reportedly staying in a vacant home.
• A reckless driver was reported in the area of El Monte Way and Alta Avenue at 5:20 p.m. A white Mercedes van was reportedly cutting people off, tailgating and weaving in out and out of traffic while traveling east bound on El Monte Way.
• Vandalism to a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of North Perry Avenue at 10:05 p.m.
Friday, May 31
• A theft report was made in the 100 block of East El Monte Way at 8:24 a.m. Beer and chips were reportedly stolen the night prior.
• An assault was reported in the 9300 block of Avenue 392 at 10:02 a.m.
• An unwanted person was reported in the 100 block of East Merced Street at 10:09 a.m. A female wearing a hat, brown shirt and black pants was reportedly screaming inside a public restroom.
• Vandalism was reported in the 1000 block of North Alta Avenue at 1:29 p.m. Three juveniles reportedly broke the windows to a classic vehicle parked at a church in the area.
• Two males were reportedly in a physical altercation in the 200 block of West El Monte Way at 3:58 p.m.
• Several subjects were reportedly in the middle of the street in the 200 block of South O Street wanting to fight at 6:20 p.m.
• A subject reported he was
assaulted at a store on El Monte Way at 9:35 p.m.
Saturday, June 1
• Two subjects, one wearing a white shirt and the other wearing a dark-colored jersey, were reportedly calling an individual out to fight in the area of Katelyn and Greene avenues at 2:17 a.m.
• Vandalism was reported in the 1000 block of North Alta Avenue at 1:53 p.m. A window was broken on the south side of a church building.
• An assault was reported in the 900 block of Elizabeth Way at 8:01 p.m. A 12-year-old was reportedly assaulted at Roosevelt Park.
• A male was reportedly assaulting a female in an open field near the Best Western at South Alta and Kamm avenues at 9:43 p.m.
• Domestic Violence was reported in the 1100 block of Roe Avenue at 10:23 p.m.
Sunday, June 2
• An illegal burn was reported in the 400 block of West Nebraska Avenue at 9:40 a.m.
• Domestic violence was reported in the 900 block of West El Monte Way at 2:04 p.m. A male subject, wearing a black shirt and blue shorts, was reportedly hitting a female.
• A theft report was made in the 700 block of West El Monte Way at 5:13 p.m. Two females reportedly walked out of the center entrance at Walmart with merchandise they did not pay for.
• Officers was called out to the 7700 block of Avenue 430 for a report of an intoxicated subject riding a horse at 7:32 p.m.
