Former Dinuba High standout Marcus McMaryion will get a chance to display his talents with the Oakland Raiders.
This all took place after this past weekend’s NFL draft. Although McMaryion was not drafted, the former Fresno State quarterback will head to the rookie minicamp and tryouts that begin this weekend. At that time, McMaryion along with the other draft picks and undrafted free agents will get their first chance to work with the coaching staff of the Raiders.
McMaryion led the Bulldogs to a pair of bowl wins including the Hawaii and more recently the Las Vegas Bowl. McMaryion passed for over 6,300 yards with 39 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He played in the East-West Shrine game and was on the watch list for the Danny Wuerffel Trophy and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. McMaryion was a semifinalist for the Maxwell and Bednarik awards.

The unseasonably high-temperatures didn’t seem to faze Dinuba High’s Jonathan Padilla at Friday’s Dinuba Invitational.
The senior pulled off a tough double, winning the 1600 in a time of 4 minutes, 37.85 seconds and later in the meet won the 3200 in 10:44.80.
Coach Lucas Lichtenwaldt said it was the first meet in hot weather.
“Everyone did the best they could,” said Lichtenwaldt. “To transition to the first meet in hot weather is difficult for everybody.”
Dinuba finished second in the team standings with 62 points behind San Joaquin Memorial, who had 74 points. Rounding out the top five were Exeters (56.5), Independence (54) and Bakersfield (53).
“I was pleasently surprised by that finish. That was quite an accomplishment,” said Lichtenwaldt,
