In the 400, Rodriguez was third in a time of 55.03 and Martinez was fifth in 57.61. Martinez also placed fifth in the 800 in a time of 2 minutes, 19.72 seconds.
David Cecilio had a time of 5:11.48 to finish fifth in the 1,600.
Edgar Dominguez was fourth in the shot put (38-1) and Brian Ventura was sixth (37-10).
The Orosi girls team were second in the team standings with behind Fowler’s.
Melanie Davila was 1st in the 800 in 2:37.14 and teammate Alejandra Lopez was 5th in 2:46.77. Davila also was victorious in the 300 hurdles in 55:09 and Victoria Trevino was 2nd in 55.88. Trevino placed 2nd in the 100 hurdles in 19.44 and was third in the long jump (14-9
1⁄4) and triple jump (31-5). In the 4x400 meter relay, the team of Davila, Lopez, Tudy Venegas and Lizet Godoy won the event in 4:42.43.
Yesenia Hernandez was 2nd in the 100 (13.63) and 200 (28.45). At the Dinuba Invitational, Huerta won the 110 hurdles in a personal best of 16.84 just ahead of Rayj Bell of East Bakersfield (17.04). He opened the meet with a PR in the 300 hurdles in a time
of 43.04 that was 3rd overall. The 4x100 relay team of Zapien, Vasquez, Arechiga and De la Cruz had a time of 46.53
to finish seventh overall.
A. Lopez finished 5th in the
800 meters in a time of 2:44.74. Tejeda was 10th in the 3200 in 14:04.62 just ahead of teammate Fabiola Rodriguez who was timed in 14:12.76. Each of their times were PR’s this season.
Aiden Rodriguez won the frosh-soph 400 in a personal best of 54.02 and was 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2:15.64.

In a very close race for the West Sequoia League title, the Orosi High boys track team finished second with 133 points as Fowler claimed the crown with 138 in the WSL Championships last Wednesday.
Fernando Vargas won the triple jump with another personal record of 39-4 and led an OHS sweep in the long jump with a personal best of 19-feet- 9 1/2 inches. Aaron De la Cruz was second (18-1 3⁄4) and Chris Huerta was third (18-0). Vargas also finished 2nd in the high jump at 5-8.
Claudio Vasquez won the 100 meters in 11.60 and was second in the 200 meters in a time of 23.56. Vasquez, Aidan Rodriguez, Chris Huerta and Chris Martinez won the 4x400 in a time of 3 minutes, 58 seconds. The 4x100 meter relay team of Ezequiel Zapien, Vasquez,

Members from the Cutler and Orosi communities turned out for the 5th annual Quevedo Memorial walk-run held Saturday. The annual event is a scholarship fundraiser for Orosi High School.

Devon Mendoza, Angel Lopez, Mike Wilson and Francisco Alburto placed sixth with a time of 45.82. Mendoza also competed in the hurdles as he clocked a season’s best in the 110’s with a time of 18.48 for sixth and was fourth in the 300
hurdles in 43.94.
Victoria Tapia was the highest-
individual to place for the girls as she was fifth in the high jump at 4-4. Felicia Vela was sixth in the discus (83-2) and 13th in the shot put (26-9 1/2).
Natalie Duran competed in
the hurdles events as she was ninth in the 300 (56.14) and 12 in the 100 (20.26).
In the triple jump, Karina Vieyra was eight in 29-10 1/2 and Jasmine Sandoval was 10th at 29-5.
Luzmi Ramirez also earned a 10th place finish in the 1600 with a time of 6:25.29.
The frosh-soph boys team took first with 47.5 points, ahead of Independence (41).
Jaime Soto captured the 1600 in a time of 5:01.33 and Jose Arreguin was 4th in 5:13.87 and teammate, David Arias, was 7th in 5:17.65. Arreguin also finished 4th in the 800 in personal best time of 2:17.17.
On April 24 at the CSL meet with Selma, Immanuel, and Hanford West, Ortuno Campbell posted his fastest time of the season in the 400 in 53.17 and Alburto was 2nd in 55.69.
Dinuba also went 1-2 in the 200 led by Lopez (24.71) and Menodza (25.09) and in the 1600 led by Padilla (4:48.98) and Estrada (4:56.93).
Yazmine Villareal Harris won the shot put in 31-7 and Vela was fifth with a throw of 25-1.
In the long jump, Tapia was 4th while recording a PR with a mark of 14-1 and Angela Cortez also set a personal best at 14-0 for 5th.
Ramirez and Luz Diaz were in the 800 as Ramirez was 4th in 2:55.21 and Diaz was 5th in 2:55.89.

In JV action, Kylee Curtis captured the 50 free in a time of 29.69 later captured the 100 free in 1:06.69. Curtis also anchored the 200 free relay that finished 2nd in 2:17.02. Other members of the relay were Linda Morales, Marisza Gonzalez, and Kathryn Arreola. Also placing in the
50 free were Jeren Tolegova, who was 8th in 34.77, while Alex Reyna was 15th in 37.27 and Felizia Meza was 19th in 40.39. Other placers in the 100 free were Samantha Medina (8th, 1:19.08), K. Arreola (10th, 1:22.09), and Gonzalez (1:29.25). Tolegova and Leslie Narveaz
were 8th and 11th with times of 1:45.0 and 1:50.01 in the 100 back while Medina took 4th in the 100 breastroke in a time of 1:40.60.

Orosi High’s Fernando Vargas is named Athlete of the Week after setting two personal records while capturing the long jump (19-9 1⁄2) and triple jump (39-11) at the West Sequoia League Track and Field Championships. Vargas nished 2nd in the high
jump (5-8) as the Cardinals were runners-up in the team standings with 133 points.
Turf Day Golf Classic

Fresno States’ Ag One Foundation (Ag One) will host their 48th annual Turf Day Golf Classic on Monday, May 13, at the Belmont Country Club in Fresno.
Registration will begin at 10
a.m., followed by lunch and a 19th hole social and dinner.
Cost is $160 per player and $640 per team. After May 3, the cost per player will increase to $175 per person.
