11 inmates positive for COVID-19 in Tulare Co. jail
MVT Staff Report
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Of- fice VID-19 conducted tests in the Tulare County Jail Facilities last week.
Eleven inmates were being iso- lated and quarantined after testing positive for COVID-19 in the Tulare County Pre-trial Facility. The 11 in- mates are being monitored by medi- cal staff. Their cells are disinfected and deep cleaned on a daily basis.
Staff and other inmates who were possibly exposed to COVID-19 are currently being tested and awaiting results.
Since the beginning of the CO- VID-19 Pandemic, all inmates in Tulare County have been monitored and screened daily by medical staff.
TCSO is working with Tulare County Health and Human Ser- vices to identify the source of this outbreak. The department also is checking if other areas of the jail may have been impacted.
Sheriff Mike Boudreaux is en- couraging the public to take all pre- cautionary measures mandated by the governor’s office to prevent the spread of Covid-19: maintain good hy- giene, practice social distancing, and, of course, stay home if you are sick.
