Construction crews removed the fence and backstop at the Reedley High School varsity baseball diamond on Oct. 6. The building project will include a new concrete grandstand, new dugouts and fencing and a new concessions facility. The varsity dia- mond facility at the northeast corner of the campus opened in 1971, and the Pirates won the section championship that year under coach Paul Mitchell.
