the Club along with the Calshot RNLI. Whilst visitor numbers were lower than expected, the conversion rate was high achieving 20 new members from a day’s work! Thanks to everyone that helped.
• RSYC’s Annual Beaulieu Regatta in July was blessed with good weather. As well as the racing, there were lots of shoreside activities for children and parents, ensuring there was something for everyone. Thanks to all that helped and joined in the fun.
• Ladies Lunches & Talks are a new addition and are well attended. We have extended the programme this year
into the summer months as it has proved so popular. (see Website for dates) and will continue through to end of year.
• Many yacht clubs offer an exercise programme of some sort and so, in November, we decided to trial a Pilates class on Tuesday mornings when the club is closed. This has again proved successful, so we are now offering another class for ‘early birds’ on Thursday mornings before the Club opens. If this continues to get bookings, we will establish this on a regular basis.
• The End of Summer ‘Mamma Mia’ Party in September was well supported. A delicious ‘Greek Mezze’ along with great music meant that everyone had a good time.
• The 2023 Childrens’ Christmas Party was a sell-out, which highlights the interest from families who have recently joined, and dates for the 2024 event are already being requested.
Having been Rear Commodore for two years I am standing down and handing the baton over to new people who have already demonstrated energy and enthusiasm to carry on the good work.
I wish them all well. Finally, I would like to thank my House Committee and all the other Volunteers who have supported me and given many hours of their time to help improve the Club.
