Where community matters
Thank you to everyone who was at the
Charter Fair and who helped club members raise valuable funds for our charity account. We would also like to thank everyone who
was involved in making it such a successful community event (photo below). A recent example of how we use the money we raise in our various fundraising activities was when we were able to give a donation to the Thrapston Community Rotary Shoe Box Appeal to help them with the expense of buying the boxes that are used for their donations.
We continue to support the charity Sailability at Grafham Water. Despite the dry and hot weather in June, there proved to be ample water for our sailing. For our most recent session
there were six club members in attendance and, to quote one of the Sailability members, “We wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.” The photos show getting one of the boats complete with sailor off the trailer ready to be launched, and some of our shore crew whilst waiting for the next boat to be launched or to return to the shore.
