Ex GOLDEN OWL is an annual sniper competition held just outside the city of Karaganda in Kazakhstan. This is the second year 1 RIFLES has entered the competition having also competed in 2011. This year a last minute transport issue denied the team the ability to take their own weapons and they had to therefore compete with weapons provided by the Kazakh Army.

present. There were
