the youth club and its facilities. No doubt these projects will add to the already flourishing community spirit here at Beachley.
CSjt Dave Stanton, Unit Welfare Office SNCO.
During the last year the welfare team have laid on several trips for Service children, including a visit to Techniquest, an interactive science museum, Ten-
Pin Bowling in Cardiff and the Dick Whittington Farm close to Gloucester.
For the more adventurous children (and parents!), there was the chance to go on a 9-day trip to Lou Valagran in the South of France where they conducted adventure training activities including a 2-day kayak trip down the Ardeche River. This trip was sponsored by the Army Welfare Service (AWS) and The Royal British Legion
(RBL); Everyone was very grateful for their generosity.
The biggest C4C event this year, was a 24 hour Skittlathon organised by TRBL Blakeney. They played numerous teams from the local area, including a team from 1 RIFLES over a 24 hour period and managed to raise in the region of £2500 for C4C.
Capt Gaz Case leaves the Welfare team this summer after 18 months of support to the community and will be surely missed by all. We look forward to Capt Andy
Kuss joining the team and no doubt will
fit in well and carry on where Gaz left off. Keeping the continuity of the team will be CSjt Dave Stanton who was promoted
earlier this year and will remain in post until he leaves the Army.
Future projects include a new play park on the Wyvern Estate (which has already received funding approval) as well as funding for a much needed revamp of
