Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
It was with much sorrow and profound regret that we heard of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty the Queen passed away aged 96 on 8th September 2022.
Queen Elizabeth II was Britain’s longest reigning monarch, having ascended to the throne on February 6th 1952, aged just 25. Her Majesty became the first British monarch during June 2022 to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee a historic milestone which marked her 70 years on the throne. Her Majesty The Queen ruled for longer than any other Monarch in British history – becoming a much loved and respected figure across the nation and the world.
Throughout her reign, she witnessed extraordinary change and challenge. For most of us, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been our only monarch and head of state.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II became a constant reassuring and guiding figure for many of us.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II personified duty; she was the epitome of duty, stability, wisdom and grace. Her sense of devotion to public service gave the entire country strength and stability.
This selfless commitment during her entire life is something the RAVC should try and emulate.
The entire Corps would like to pay tribute to The Queen for 70 years of dedicated service to our nation. “Long live the King”.
