FESTIVAL
of Music and Drama
Next year will be the 105th Oundle Festival of Music and Drama, taking place from 22nd – 30th March 2024.
Although it is described as a competitive festival, our aim is ‘to provide performance opportunities for amateur performers of all ages in a friendly, constructive atmosphere, in order to improve their skills’. We hope that everyone who takes part enjoys themselves, learns something to take away to improve on and meets other people with similar interests.
Every year we review which classes were popular, which ones we could tweak and what new classes we could offer so there are plenty
of new Music classes this year: ukulele solos and orchestras, primary music making, church or chapel choirs and a novice class for any instrumental beginners. We are now allowing backing tracks for some classes. Take a look and see if there is anything you could enter!
We would particularly welcome Speech and Drama entries from individuals, both young and old(er), and from schools or other groups. If you are an aspiring actor or you love reading
aloud, please think about entering.
Even if you are not thinking of entering,
there are lots of ways in which you could volunteer – helping to prepare rooms, being a door steward, writing certificates, helping to clear up – just some of the jobs where we always need more hands!
We hope to see you at the 2024 Festival, either as a performer, a helper or as a member of the audience.
