We hope you enjoyed all the celebrations
over the Coronation weekend and were able to celebrate with friends and family. St James Church was pleased to be able to rescue the ‘Last Night of the Proms’ when the rain finally took over in Peace Park on May 6th. It was good to be able to welcome everyone into the church building which had been beautifully decorated for the Coronation.
We are now looking forward to Thrapston Charter Fair on 24th June when the church will be open for refreshments throughout the day. During the afternoon Thrapston Town Band will be playing in the churchyard and Steve
the Juggler will be offering free circus skills activities. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the High Street and spend some time relaxing with a cup of tea!
We will also be out on the High Street so look out for us at the bottom of The Slabs. There will also be a church stall at Islip Fete on Saturday 17th June so come and say hello.
Praise and Play look forward to welcoming under-fives and their grown-ups into St James Church on Monday mornings from 9-10.30am. It’s a good time to make new friends, enjoy
craft making, listen to a story, sing songs, enjoy refreshments together and have a chance to chat.
You may have heard the bells ringing over the Coronation Weekend or on Monday evenings. If anyone would like to learn to ring the bells please e-mail tdichurches@gmail.com to express your interest. Ringers meet on Monday evenings to practice but teaching sessions can be arranged for those who are interested.
Tuesday Together continues every week so come along come along for a cuppa between 10am and 12noon to meet old friends and make new ones. We’d love to see you. For those who
wish to attend, there is also a Tuesday morning Communion Service starting at 9.45am.
We’re also there on Saturdays – 10am-12noon including the first Saturday of the month when the Indoor Craft Market meets in St James Hall from 9am-1pm. There’s a wonderful range of stalls so be sure not to miss it.
Knitting for Beginners meets on Monday evenings from 6.30-8.00pm in St James, Thrapston and is a group where you can come along and learn how to knit or crochet. It’s free, a lot of fun and those teaching have plenty of patience. No need to book or even bring your own knitting at the beginning. For more details contact Sue on 01832 733717.
