 Cruiser Racing
This year we decided in committee to reduce the number of range races to approximately one per month. By reducing
the numbers we thought it might make it easier for cruisers to commit and organise as well as leaving more space for other things to do. Courses were laid using temporary marks which on the whole worked well.
Calvert and fourth was St Anthony sailed by Peter Waring. Well done to all.
A special mention for Jonny and Kim
in their support for the Salcombe Cruiser fleet as they only missed one race/ rally in the whole series, well done. Mind you with such a stunning boat who can blame them and their crew!
Finally, we are planning a different racing format for 2020 albeit once a month. The main difference is to look for a few more Skerries type races, weather permitting! John McLaren
Weather is always going to be a challenge for organising racing in the range but did not impede us too much this year.
IRC racing was limited to two boats namely JuJu sailed ably by Jonny and Kim Hearth plus a very loyal following. Second was Aeolus sailed by yours truly plus a few patient friends.
NHC racing group included 10 qualifying boats who were able to present a result
mainly from the excellent rally contingent. First overall was again Jonny and Kim Hearth in JuJu followed by yours truly in Aeolus. Third was Jenny T raced by James
