Highlight of your day? I do enjoy my foot
patrols and talking to the local community.
Residents are oft en surprised to see a police
offi cer on foot – ‘old school bobby on the beat’.
Describe your business in fi ve words…
Rewarding, unpredictable, stressful (at times),
enjoyable, challenging.
Most challenging part of the job? Th e not
knowing when and what my next call out will
be. I can quite oft en spend the day being rather
quiet, then being hours late fi nishing, while I
deal with a serious incident. Th ankfully these
kind of incidents don’t happen oft en, but we
really don’t know what we’re going to next.
Any funny moments? Plenty! But I could not
possibly disclose them!
Proudest moment? Representing
Northamptonshire Police along with my
Sergeant for Remembrance Sunday. I am a huge
supporter for our armed forces and thankful for
everything they do. Th is year was the fi rst time
I attended the Oundle Remembrance Sunday
parade, and I was truly proud to be a part of it.
It was so nice to see the turn out and I received
plenty of comments on how happy people were
to see me be a part of it!
Any future ambitions? I do like the thought
of a potential promotion; however, I am really
enjoying what I am doing at present.
What brings you joy? Anything outdoors! I
enjoy being out in the sun as much as possible.
Whether that is working on my allotment or
enjoying a beer garden. When the sun is out and
it’s hot, you’ll never fi nd me indoors.
Something people don’t know about you?
Might be a boring fact but I have what’s called
heterochromia. Th is mean I have two diff erent
coloured eyes! Th is is quite rare as apparently
less than 1% of the world’s population have this.
Who inspires you? David Attenborough. He
has made me really enjoy the simple things in
life when it comes to nature and wildlife and
how truly amazing our world is.
You have £10 to give to charity, who do you
choose? Cancer Research. Th is charity means
a lot to me, as like many, I have lost loved ones
and colleagues through cancer. Th e work and
research they do is amazing.
