THRAPSTON CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL 2022
After the unfortunate cancellation of parts of the 2021 Christmas Festival due to Storm Arwin, Thrapston Town Council are excited to announce plans for this year’s Christmas Festival and light switch on in the town.
Taking place on Saturday 26th November from 3pm, visitors will be able to enjoy fairground rides, sweet and savoury outdoor food options and entertainment, including music from Prince William School’s jazz and concert band.
The High Street will be closed for the afternoon and the main stage entertainment will also feature a short performance from this year’s pantomime, Little Red Riding Hood, performed by the LOL Theatre Company.
In the Plaza, the popular indoor craft market will be back featuring an array of local craftmanship and wonderful homemade items – ideal for gifts for family and friends this festive season. Refreshments and a tombola will also be available in the Plaza raising funds for The Haemophilia Society UK.
Alongside some delicious food and drink
vendors on the High Street, there will also be a children’s craft tent and Father Christmas himself has cleared his diary for the day so he can join the festivities and get all the requests from the children of Thrapston.
At 5.30pm, the Christmas tree outside the library will have its lights switched on. Thrapston Town Band and Thrapston Plaza Opera will be on hand to lead the crowd in carols to celebrate the occasion.
Thrapston Town Council are asking residents to nominate someone from the
town who they think deserves the honour
of switching on the town’s Christmas lights. Who’s your Thrapston star this Christmas? Tell us who you think deserves to stand centre- stage and light up the town. Email events@ thrapstontowncouncil.gov.uk with your nominations before Sunday 13th November and include contact details of the nominee if you have them.
Mark Saturday 26th November in your diary and we look forward to seeing you there.
Who do you want to see light up Thrapston at this year’s Christmas Festival?
We want your nominations from within the community as to who should switch on the town’s Christmas lights at the Thrapston Christmas Festival on Saturday 26th November.
