SOUTH WALES & SOUTH WEST RAPTC ASSOCIATION BRANCH
The SWales & SW RAPTC Association Branch is back, albeit a new title that I prefer. Hopefully the Branch will gather momentum and deliver for our members. We have a huge area of responsibility from Mid Wales down to the south tip of Cornwall and across to Dorset but we will aim to try and please everyone as we move forward with social gatherings in many locations.
I have taken on the mantle as Secretary for the Branch along with Lt Col (Retd) Garry Jones as the Chair and Treasurer. I look for support from our brethren to bolster our group and help deliver local events.
Our first event was a Branch Dinner held at Jury’s Inn, Cardiff on Sat 22 Oct 22 where we had more than 40+ serving and retired members and their guests attend an excellent dinner.
During the Dinner, the Regt Sec presented Nick Lear-Easdown with the Gelder Trophy from the 2022 RAPTC Association Awards.
Our most recent branch dinner included a Golf event at the wonderful Morlais Castle GC on the Friday with Barney Barnett, Dave Boocock, Gary Jones, Steve

Early(ish) on Saturday morning a few of us walked up Pen y Fan to clear those heads. Those to brave the walk were Barney Barnett, Dave Boocock, Rachel McKenzie, Al Straiton, John Downes, Tony Leece and our ATIs for the day Gill and

This year’s traditional Branch Dinner took place at The Wellington Inn, Brecon, with just shy of 50 attendees. A relaxed dinner and excellent company was enjoyed by all. A huge thank you to all who made the journey.
