Festival of board games
February weather can be crisp and lovely, but the sun still sets early and afternoons continue to be dark and dreary. If you are trying to keep a houseful of children on half-term holiday in a good mood, or a solo child engaged
and entertained, a change of scenery can certainly be a wonderful help. After a day of outdoor exploration or perhaps a morning indoors dodging the rain, you are welcome to call into the library for a sit-down with our board games.

Our stock of stalwarts that usually consists of Lotto, Monopoly, Monster bingo
and Guess who, has been expanded thanks to an autumn donation from Playtime. We now have a selection of family games for ages 8 and up, most of which can be played with two or more players. Some of these are: Farkelparty, Rush hour, Brain box, Slapzi, Set up, Three frogs, Junior colour brain, That’s not a hat, Pokemon battle academy and Priorities.
Oundle Library has a lovely range of engaging toys for various age groups.
Every day we are open there is a
selection set out on tuff trays for children and parents to play with at a time of their choosing. However, there are particular occasions when we like to have more of the community gather round the table all at the same time. This February, we will be bringing out the board
And if we are feeling brave, we may even bring out the game of Really loud librarians. Perhaps.
Drop into Oundle library every afternoon over the February half term (17th-21st February) from 3-4.30pm to try one out.
