ONE ROW
LIVE IT –
PART 3
What has been happening recently?
Giorgia has been busy sending (literally) hundreds of emails along with our Presentation Pack to potential sponsors, here’s to hoping some of them join our campaign! It really is true what they say, the hardest part of Rowing the Atlantic, is getting to the start line, not the row itself!
Giorgia and Louis have been in touch with their friend, Hannah, who is a Full Time Crew member
at RNLI Blackpool. Her main role when she is not saving lives is to help raise sponsorships for the RNLI. Hannah will be lending a very helpful hand to assist One Row Live It in raising more money and obtaining those crucial sponsorships which will fund their campaign across the Atlantic!
Meanwhile, Louis has spent a week of rowing around the Scottish Inner Hebrides on the ‘Rannoch Adventure’ Ocean Rowing Boat, Roxy!
Roxy is a 38ft long vessel which can take a maximum crew of 12 people. On this occasion there were a total of 9.
Part of the plan was to circumnavigate the Isle of Mull. Sadly, due to the harsh onshore winds, they only managed half of the island before continuing through the inner Hebrides and Lochs, finally finishing in Fort William.
The highlight was their stay in Tobermory (aka Balamory!) enjoying its amazing island atmosphere and visiting the RNLI station where, after hearing about One Row Live It, the crew gave Louis a personal tour of their Severn Class Lifeboat!
The skills he learnt from living onboard such a small boat at sea and survival techniques in all weather will be a huge benefit for when ‘One
What an amazing adventure, meeting amazing people, learning valuable skills and admiring the breathtaking scenery of the Inner Hebrides
Row Live It’ get out training in their own boat. What an amazing adventure, meeting amazing people, learning valuable skills and admiring the breathtaking scenery of the Inner Hebrides.
In other very exciting news, at the time of writing (September 2024), ‘One Row Live It’ have been in discussions and are going to visit a ‘Rannoch R25’ Ocean Rowing Boat, which is what they need for their row! If all goes well, a deal could be made that will secure a boat for them!
But as always, we still need your help!
