 WING COMPETITION DAY 2024
400+ cadets from all over the Wing came together on 7 July 24 at RAF Leeming for a day of competitions and fun at the Wing Competition Day. The day provides the opportunity for all 31 Squadrons to
join together in a full day of activities ranging from media, through to leadership, drill including Banner drill, STEM and First Aid, together with shooting and modelling.
With eight competitions running simultaneously at various locations around the station, both staff and cadets were kept busy running around and being
in the right place at the right time. Finally, after a long and challenging day the Wing formed up on the Sports Field for the presentation of the trophies.
264 (Skipton) Squadron
put in a winning team in the drill competition
In the First Aid competition the winning team was 2434 (Church Fenton) Squadron, whilst the Media Communications competition was won by 152 (City of Hull) Squadron. The Aero Modelling competition was won by 110 (City of York) Squadron, and 2527 (Lawnswood) Squadron won the Leadership competition, with 152 (City of Hull) Squadron taking the honours at STEM.
264 (Skipton) Squadron put in a winning team in the drill competition, whilst the Best NCO was judged to be Flight Sergeant George Jenkinson of 152 (City of Hull) Squadron. The Banner Drill competition was jointly shared, in a draw, by 152 (City of Hull) and 195 (Grimsby) Squadrons.
