the team was suffering from tiredness and exhausted muscles,
however everyone enjoyed the session.
In between the skiing, regular visits were made to the shooting range.
On one occasion we had a shoot-off in teams which culminated
in WO2 Patton and Capt Boocock having a competition. Although
WO2 Patton won, the team were not convinced that there hadn’t
been some dodgy scoring!
The following day WO2 Patton decided that, as everyone’s legs
were a little tired and stiff, we would train ‘the guns’ and do an
arms only session. This consisted of poling up and down tracks
and inished with individual best efforts. This clearly turned into
competitive racing between the team. By the end of the session,
everyone’s arms were now as fatigued as their legs.

very successful period for the RAPTC Netball team. In
Sep 2012 the RAPTC Netball team celebrated the RAPTC
bi-annual reunion by organising and playing against the
Women Royal Army Corps (WRAC) PTIs at St Omer Barracks
in Aldershot. Dispute losing to the WRAC PTIs, both teams
thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was a great occasion for past
and present friends to catch up.
The Army Inter Corps Netball Championships took place at
the AGSC, on Thu 25 and Fri 26 Oct 12, courtesy of the Royal
Signals Netball Secretary. To allow greater participation this year’s
championship was changed. Some of the key changes included
allowing all Corps to enter up to 3 teams and for the championships
to be contested over two days instead of one. The other major
change was that teams were split into two divisions which allowed
the smaller Corps to compete on a more level playing ield and
for greater squad development. The stronger Corps (those with a RAPTC Inter Corps Netball team
vast number of females, RLC/AGC) started in Division 1 and the
smaller Corps and Corps’ B and C teams split between Divisions year fate was in our hands and the RAPTC Netball Team not only

with just over 30 females we were entered into Division 2. With pleasure to announce that the RAPTC Netball team won 4 out of
just a small minority of females within the Corps it has also been 5 games within their division taking second place. An achievement
an ongoing battle to fulil most teamed sports, nevertheless this
to be very proud off.
