several kit malfunctions, we must have provided onlookers with
enough ammunition to create Ukraine’s very own You’ve Been
Framed. All in all though, Maj Cotterill painted an excellent picture
of the ground in detail and got the Study off to an information
loaded start.

The following days would follow a very similar pattern, post-
breakfast we would be on our way to a new chapter in the
Crimean War story and walking the various battles watching the

big picture unfold. From the port of Balaklava, to the Battles of
Little Inkerman, the bloodier Battle of Inkerman, the Siege of
Sevastopol and the War’s conclusion.

There were many highlights for the team, not all with positive
outcomes. One being our own instalment of the Corps “Assault
on Sandbag Battery”. On making our way to this prominent site
of history there were signiicant errors with our MATT 5 Navigation

skills. Six or seven suspect holes in the ground later, a conclusion
that we had the right location was reached where we learned
about the “Soldiers Battle” in the Battle of Inkerman. We then
