Great Big Green Week

Taking place 8th-16th June, the campaign known as the Great Big Green Week will see thousands of people across the UK organising local festivals and events – with schools, businesses and many more taking part.
Now in its fourth year, the Great Big Green Week will draw attention to climate change and destruction of the natural world, while also making a connection with these issues in local communities. The Great Big Green Week will show that people and communities across the UK are already making swaps every day to help create a safer, greener future – now it’s time
for all politicians to follow suit and commit to ambitious action ahead of the general election.
How can I take part?
Find an event – visit greatbiggreenweek.com to search for an event near you. From litter picks, to nature walks, to climate coffee mornings. Make a swap – Why not commit to doing something to help the environment for the week? You could swap your car for bikes on the school run, swap buying new for repairing old, or swap screen time for time spent in nature. Share your swap – Whatever action you’re taking to tackle climate change or protect

nature, share your story as part of the Great
Big Green Week. By sharing your swaps, you’ll help show that people everywhere are already doing their bit - now it’s time for all politicians to follow suit. Share your swaps on social media using the hashtag #SwapTogether, or add them directly to the Great Big Green Week website. Start a conversation – Having conversations about climate change in our daily lives can be one of the most effective ways to champion action. We take our cues about what’s important from what we hear from family, friends and colleagues – so why not start the conversation during Great Big Green Week about why
it’s so important that we protect our natural environment, now and for future generations?
Let’s swap together for good
By coming together in local communities across the country, we will show that the UK public
is taking action to tackle climate change and protect nature in many different ways. Now it’s time for all politicians to take note and step up.
