                                WHAT’S ON
In and Around Thrapston
Thrapston WI meet on the 1st Thursday of each month, at Thrapston Baptist Church. Contributing to the wonderful Thrapston
community is important to us, and we continue to look for ways we can be involved. We have recently taken part in the regular Town Quiz and attended the annual Town Meeting. A group of us are looking forward to attending the next TADs performance. In the spirit of ‘ women helping women, we are also about to begin collecting sanitary products for donation to the Thrapston Foodbank.
Summer will soon be here, and we plan to participate in the annual Charter Fair on 29th June, serving refreshments in the Plaza. Please do pop in and say ‘hello.’ Our plans include a coach trip to Stratford upon Avon, a walking tour of Stamford and a trip out for afternoon tea.
Our meetings start at 7.30pm. Visitors, who are always welcome, pay £5.00, refreshments
included. We have an
exciting programme planned
for 2024, with a wide range
of speakers and activities.
In June we have a talk
from the charity, Headway. In July, we have a demonstration from Icarus Falconers.
Our enthusiastic skittles team is going from strength to strength, meeting every other Wednesday at Islip WMC, start time 7.30pm. Our walking group also continues to meet regularly, whatever the weather. As well as enjoying regular local walks, both short and long, they also take part in walks organised by Northamptonshire Federation.

Summer celebration at Thrapston Primary School
After a very successful first Summer Celebration at Thrapston Primary School last year, we have decided to do it again this year. It will be on Friday 19th July. The fair will run 1pm-4pm. This will be an opportunity for the children to display their work, demonstrate their skills and to perform throughout the afternoon to their families.
We would like to invite local businesses to join us on the day to advertise and sell their products as we did last year. If you think your products would appeal to our children and parents, we would love for you to join us.
Examples of businesses we are looking for: cake sellers, toys, books, children’s clothing, craft stalls etc. Or you may want to join us to run a game for our children during the afternoon.
We are asking that you bring your own table and gazebo if needed. Whilst we will not be charging a specific amount for a pitch, we will
be asking for donations which will go towards future activities for the children.
If you are interested, please contact lcrook- chambers@thrapston.net to make sure that we have spaces left for you to join us.

 LISA’S WING WALK IS
GETTING CLOSER!
On Sunday 23rd June I will be doing
a wing walk to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in memory of my brother who passed away last December after a two and a half year battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme.
I would be very grateful if you could help me raise as much as possible. The link to my JustGiving page is: www.justgiving. com/page/lj-peet-1710068627115
