                                 Squadron Leader Parkes has recently been promoted and appointed to the Wing Executive in the post of Wing Shooting Officer, a role for which he is well suited for and extremely qualified.
Flight Lieutenant
George Clemitshaw
Flight Lieutenant Clemitshaw is
a calm conscientious officer who provides inspiration to all with his quiet but commanding demeanour. He is well respected by both cadets
and staff and undertakes all his duties in a highly professional manner.
As a Squadron Commander, he took on the role at a difficult time for 740 (Whitby) Squadron but has gone on to make the unit one of the best within Central and East Yorkshire Wing. Flight Lieutenant Clemitshaw has helped the unit to develop very strong links with the local community, supporting numerous ceremonial and charitable events.
In addition, he has taken on a number of other roles in support of the Wing, becoming the Wing Health and Safety Advisor which has seen a rise in cadet’s participation in the Cadet Entry Level Award in Health and Safety, together with being the Project Officer for the Wing’s ongoing exchange programme with the New Hampshire Wing of the US Civil Air Patrol.
Leading Cadet Alfie Allen
Alfie has always played a large part within the community, starting way back when he was a Junior Cadet at 10 years old. He is always first to volunteer for all events and parades and even volunteers to help other
organisations such as the Royal Naval Association and Merchant Navy Association.
He is always present at the British Legion Parades, Life Boat Days, Armed Forces Day, Sea Fest, reading at Church Services and many fundraisers. Alfie
also volunteers to wait on at our Annual Trafalgar Day Mess Meal and for the Scarborough Yacht Club Dinner.
His first love is sailing and has worked extremely hard to because an Assistant Dinghy Instructor, hoping to qualify as a Dinghy Instructor once he is 16. His second love is drill and is hoping to attend the Cadet Drill Instructor course in Portsmouth later this year.
As you can no doubt tell, Alfie is always busy with the unit and is a key member of most competition teams being a National Winner at Drill, Rowing and Football. He is also a member of Sailing Team that went to the Area Competition. He has also represented Eastern Area at the National Band Competition at the Tower of London in front of thousands of the public.
Alfie is intending to attend Scarborough Sixth Form College to continue his studies, working towards a career in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
