SPOOKTACULAR DISPLAY
Judged 26th-29th October / Winner announced on the 30th
Despite Covid not permitting us all to trick or treat as normal this year, households got into the Halloween spirit by decorating their windows and front gardens with all things spooky. There were 3 prizes up for grabs, which included an annual membership to the local Raptor Foundation.
With over 20 entries, the following were chosen as the top 3:
November
POPPY STONES
11th November
To commemorate those who have fallen in the line of duty, we explored ways into which we can bring the Wyton Community together for Remembrance Day without physically being together. Poppy stones and pens were provided and sent out to schools, youth club and the Wyton Community to decorate, ready to be placed at the Wyton Memorial Garden. This represented us all remembering despite not being present to show our respect.
WYTON SPARKLER NIGHT
5th November
With firework displays cancelled, the idea of a Sparkler Night was presented where
Sparkler packs were distributed to those on the Wyton and Brampton Estate which were lit at 6pm on the 5th November. Many came out to enjoy this socially distanced option as an alternative under the current circumstances.
The Youth Club staff and children that attend, showed Community spirit as they re-painted the remembrance wall in the cold and rain, ready for Remembrance Day.
