The RAVC Calendar 2015 can be found further in this issue of Chiron Calling. The events listed below are reproduced to remind members of closing dates for returns. Payments must be made with reservations. All cheques are to be made out to ‘RAVC Central Fund’. Further information and return proformas can be found on the RAVC Association website, under ‘Events’.
RAVC Council Meetings – (Change of Date)
The dates for the RAVC Council meetings in 2015 are Friday 17th April 2015 and Friday 16th October 2015 commencing at 1030 hrs and will be in the following order:
a. The RAVC Corps Council.
b. The RAVC Welfare & Benevolent
Fund.
c. The RAVC Officers Club.
Separate instructions for members of each of the above committee will be sent out by the Regimental Secretary.
RAVC Officers and Ladies Guest Night – Fri 15 May 15
Following the successful ladies guest night held at the Corps Officers Mess in Camberley over the last two years, another Ladies Guest Night will be held in Camberley on Friday 15 May 2015. This is a Bank Holiday weekend and the day before the Army/Navy match at Twickenham. Officers, their wives/ husbands and partners are also invited. All those attending should assemble at 1915hrs, for dinner at 1945hrs. Dress will be Mess dress (black tie for others, ladies as appropriate) and miniatures are to be worn. Limited accommodation is now available at the FASC Officers Mess and officers are advise to make their own booking through the Mess Manager on 01276 412707. There is also a Premier Inn opposite the main gate to RMA Sandhurst, which is just 5 minutes walk from the Officers’ Mess.

RAVC Association Committee of Management Meeting - 2015
The above meeting will be held at the DAC, Melton Mowbray on Tuesday 19th May 15 and Sat 12 Sep 15. Further instructions will be sent out to Committee Members by the Regimental Secretary.
RAVC Morning Service – Royal Hospital Chelsea on Sun 5 Jul 15
The RAVC Morning Service at the Royal Hospital Chelsea will be held on Sunday 5 July 2015. The Service is preceded by a small parade at 1015 hrs, followed by the Service at 1100 hrs.
A Curry lunch is served after the service at the cost of £10.

RAVC Annual Reunion 12 Sep 15
This year’s RAVC Association Reunion will be held at the Defence Animal Centre, Melton Mowbray on Saturday 12th September 2015. This event will include the following:
a. 1500 hrs - Association Committee of Management Meeting.
b. 1600 hrs - RAVC Officers’ Club AGM. c. 1650 hrs - Memorial Parade and
Service.
d. 1800 hrs - Association Annual General
Meeting.
e. 1830 hrs - DAVRS open discussion –
all invited.
f. 1930 hrs - Annual Reunion Dinner.
Field of Remembrance
The Field of Remembrance will be celebrated at Westminster Abbey on Thursday 11th November 2015. As this is a ticket only attendance, those wishing to attend this event are to forward their names to the Regimental Secretary by 16th October 2015.
Remembrance Service
& Cenotaph Parade
The above event will take place on Sunday 15th November 2015. Owing to the security arrangements for the day, members wishing to attend are to forward their names to the Regimental Secretary by 16th October 2015.

Members and readers will be able to keep themselves up to date with Corps matters and will also be able to send their attendance returns for functions direct to the Regimental Secretary.

RAVC ASSOCIATION
The RAVC Association has a Branch known as the Melton Branch, which is based in Melton Mowbray. All those who have served in the RAVC are automatically life members of the association, and all those who have either served with the RAVC or are friends of the RAVC are also entitled to become members of the RAVC Association.
There is a ‘one off ’ membership joining fee for those wishing to join. The Association Branch meets monthly, usually on the first Thursday evening of the month at the DAC WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess, courtesy of the Corps RSM.
Anyone wishing to join the Association or who would like to attend the monthly meeting are most welcomed.
