We are planning to meet for a fun day out at Old Hunstanton on Saturday 2nd September. You will need to make your own way there and check tdichurches.com for a change of plans if the weather isn’t good. We’re meeting on the beach at Old Hunstanton mid-morning and have fish and chips on the way home. Email tdichurches@gmail.com for more details.
Saturday 9th September – Historic Churches Ride and Stride. Our churches will be open so pop in on your travels. Paul Dowling has the sponsorship forms and is co-ordinating those manning the church so please be in touch with him if you’re able to take part or help. Sponsors needed too! Email tdichurches@gmail.com.
Praise and Play will resume on Monday 11th September and we look forward to welcoming under-fives and their grown-ups into St James Church on Monday mornings from 9am- 10.30am – a good time to make new friends, enjoy craft making, listen to a story, sing songs, enjoy refreshments together and have a chance to chat. Look for the flag outside the church! Thank you to Zephyr! We think it looks great!
Sunday 17th September from 9.30am, for a bit longer than usual, we are planning to have
a special service at which the congregations of St James and St Nicholas get together. We’ll be giving thanks to God for our church family, thinking about what it means to be church
and reflecting on what we could improve or
do better. There will be opportunities to make suggestions and chances to indicate how you might like to serve or get increasingly involved.
Saturday 2nd September the Indoor Craft Market will meet in St James Hall from 9am- 1pm. There’s a wonderful range of stalls so be sure not to miss it. It can’t be any wetter than August – can it?
Once you’ve finished in the market pop into
church for a coffee and chat. We’re there every Saturday from 10am-12noon.
Tuesday Together also continues every week so come along for a cuppa between 10am and 12noon to meet old friends and make new ones. We’d love to see you. For those who wish to attend, there is also a Tuesday morning Communion Service starting at 9.45am.
Knitting for Beginners meets on Monday evenings from 6.30-8.00pm in St James, Thrapston and is a group where you can come along and learn how to knit or crochet. It’s free, a lot of fun and those teaching have plenty of patience. No need to book or even bring your own knitting at the beginning. For more details contact Sue on 01832 733717.
If anyone would like to learn to ring the bells please e-mail tdichurches@gmail.com to express your interest. Ringers meet on Monday evenings to practice but teaching sessions can be arranged for those who are interested.
